What a great effort. Fantastic. Well done. The camera doesnt really show the steepness of the road...but seeing so many pushing their bikes up its obvious that its a brutal clumb. Respect to those who were seated!! Great video.

Wow that looked brutal! 😬 Exceptional effort man, especially with 99miles in the legs already! 🤯chapeau 👏👍😎 17 minutes of pain, and i felt every one! My HR and Power is around the same going up a serious climb, but i couldn't do it after 99kms. And I've never seen so many people walking their bikes up a hill! You must be chuffed you overtook so many of them 😁😎👍 Well done again man!

Such a brutal climb. After the cattle grid..... seemingly endless. Did it a couple of weeks before on the Lakeland Classic route. Tic tacking the really steep bits was my favoured technique. And the descent is pretty scary...

Well done ! I went up there with my first car in 1982, the radiator boiled before we got to the top, had to stop ! Would love to try it on a bike, but would probably end up walking !

The flicking head movement of the footage does your head in watching. I did this climb last year and it’s tough especially after 50miles but it was the road surface that made it brutal. Fortunately I didn’t have to contend with other cyclists. Well done.

@arunasadomaitis4524 Жыл бұрын
I went for 34-34. Can be done with a harder ratio, but the challenge was not to walk and I didn't want to take any chances 😃. Whatever gears you have, you will use them all and wish for more! 😂 The weather was actually very nice, yes Hardknott and a few other hills were misty, but no rain, and just warm enough for short sleeves. Especially considering the weather next day! 🌧🌧🌧

I witnessed a car burn its clutch out on that final sharp climb (hard left, followed by the hard right), so you can only imagine just how almost impossibly hard that entire climb is... and near the end as well!

@kaltonian
@kaltonian Жыл бұрын
I couldn't do that...I just couldn't walk my bike up hill, to spend super money on a light bike for these occasions to, it would be more painful looking back over the years, but i get it, as it's soo tempting on a mountain stage to get off, especially on a monster climb, i know this climb as have done it on a hot humid day and it was made hard due to road surface and hot sticky weather

Ah memories ! Did that and Rhinos in the late 80s , I was seriously racing on my MTB ,, wasn’t into road bikes then , so I did them on my GT Zaskar ,, every Sunday up t lakes from Accy ,, as a mountain biker me and my mate found it easy on tarmac lol ,, ( well not easy , easier Lol😅) the road surface was a bit better back then too . Good effort fella ,,
