For me the Glandon is up the other way, i always considered this route to be the CDF climb which happens to access the Glandon if you peel off before the summit.

I first climbed the Glandon in 1988, in the opposite direction. The hairpinned descent shown at @1:55 didn't exist then. The road had to be re-routed around a massive landslide sometime around 1989.

Last year this climb was the Croix de Fer. Of course both are true, "Col" being "pass" and the two cols are right next to each other with three ways up/down.

Glandon is is a long and beatiful climb, I've done most of the ascents from Alemont. IMHO this is the easier side, the descent from other side is much more technical so be careful

Are there two sides to ascend from? I rode that climb but that looked quite different

Nice . What gears did you use ? Can it be done with 39/29 ?

I climbed this two years ago with 39/28. I'm 62, 150 pounds, 5'9".
