Amazing!! How do you make all of these videos easy to understand, also cover a lot of things in such a short time. Wow!!!! I love your videos. Also, you are willing to take challenges of making videos on more complex topics.

sir!! i have a question. in photochem condition of 4+2, why only 1,3butadiene exited? light is not selevtive attacker.. if ethylene also excited, 4+2 can go on supra. could you explain to me?

Hy sir..is LUMO nd HOMO same for ethylene in photochemical conditin i..e cy 2?

At the [4+2] photochemical conditions you say that antarafacial is photochemically not allowed (6:46), while in the table at the end of the video you wrote that [4+2] photochemical is allowed when they are antarafacial. So is it allowed or not?
@ChemWis Жыл бұрын
In [4+2]cycloaddition under photochemical condition the possible orbital overlap is antarafacial. Because of small ring size antarafacial overlap is not possible and therefore, [4+2]cycloaddition is photochemically not allowed

At 1:44 [6+4] cycloaddition rxn is wrong....there will be only 3 bonds

What is cyto and cy3? or cy1? And how does it relate to the + or - for the nodes? How to know what to draw for the LUMO pink and green bubbles? Thank you!

Thanks for you comments. Could you please let me know where from did you get these terms Cyto, Cy3 and Cy1 so that I can understand you question and get back to you? I have uploaded a separate lecture wherein it has been discussed the way how to make Huckel Molecular Orbital diagrams (HOMO and LUMO). kzbin.info/www/bejne/epfZf6uYm6afkMk

I think she means psi! Psi2, psi3 and psi1.

Right! Thank you Aditi for the clarification. Basically Psi1, Psi2, Psi3.... are the symbols that represent Hucke Molecular Orbitals (HMO) for Pi systems like alkenes (isolated, cumulated or conjugated), aromatic systems etc. You need to study quantum mechanics for detailed knowledge about them. For the better understanding of selection rules and stereochemical outcome of pericyclic reactions you need to have clear concept regarding Huckel Molecular Orbitals/diagrams. I have discussed the way of constructing (HMO) for anyl Pi system without knowing quantum mechanics in a different lecture, the link of which is given below: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epfZf6uYm6afkMk

Welcome Mahira! I have created a playlist according to the topics like stereochemistry, name reactions, Coordination chemistry, NMR etc that have several lectures related to the particular topic. You can visit to those folders and watch the lecture of your choice.
