Looks effective, maybe do a light valve lapp with ultra fine compound.? I've know people to use corn starch.

The MLS gaskets are sensitive to RA surface roughness over time the expansion and contraction. Or cylinder head lift under high pressure(boost) will eventually cause the gasket to fail I reccomend if you do this use the earlier paper/graphite ls head gaskets in a non turbo application

Wayne, how smooth should the block surface be? Ihaven't run MLS gaskets before but have some Cometics on order, my block was decked about 6 months ago at the machine shop so it is in good shape just don't know if there are additional steps to take before running MLS gaskets. Thanks!

Great but u need to clean all the grit out right

koollee yeah, the same happens when you machine it. You always have to clean it unless you are a hack or you are building a competitor's engine. Time and detail is everything.
