Thank you for this video! Currently in college taking automotive courses. Your video helped simplify some of the slides I've been reading.

Is fuel cut not dangerous for the combustion chamber? A lean burn is very high temp, couldn't it cause damage to the valves? Genuinely curious, thanks

Fuel cut is regarded as safer than ignition cut. When fuel is cut, the cylinder becomes an air pump and there is no risk of damage. When ignition is cut, the lack of spark results in raw fuel being passed to the catalytic converter. This could cause damage to the converter due to the substrate overheating.

The video would help more if you show from the beginning step by step hot to get on that part in the scann tool

Would power balance only apply to ford could power balance a import like a Honda thank you have great day good content

Thanks! Yes, you can perform a power balance on any engine where you have the ability to disable fuel or spark on individual cylinders. The scan method is great and easy, but there are manual methods you can perform by disconnecting a fuel injector or ignition coil briefly. Keep in mind if you disconnect an ignition coil, you only want to touch the low voltage (primary circuit) and do not disable it for more than 3-5 seconds. When ignition is disabled, raw fuel is passing through the cylinder on the catalytic converter and can cause it to overheat.
