You do not. There are some features that do require it but that’s mostly guided access and coding.

on powerstrokes are you able to turn off compensation on the truck to get a true reading? As far as im aware only IDS has that feature. otherwise the misfire will not be obvious on the graph.

Hmm… I have never looked for that feature because I have not needed it. The misfires have always been obvious on the graph for me.

Power balance on all Autel tools is slow and inaccurate. Try an IDS or Verus and you’ll see what I mean.
