Damn dude, this was the best tutorial you've ever posted. This is one of the most important things producer's should know and for some reason it's commonly overlooked.

Super dope. I would've opted to use some of the other sounds in different parts of the track rather than Thanos snapping them away, but def big improvement.

Trust me... changing the key killed the vibe and feel. 🙏 Not necessary to change the key but the 808.

I loveee this video and his process, he makes mixing look extremely easy, and when you're at his level, mixing doesn't actually take that long to do. However I disagree with changing the key of the song to make the 808 hit harder. He may have done that just to give an advanced tip that beginner producers don't know about, and I didn't figure that out myself until after like 3 years of producing. But I feel like this should be a last resort. If your song is BUMPIN at x key, and you've even experimented with other keys and you're like "nah this key is hittin, i love it", but then you get to your bass and it's not quite hitting like you want it to, you MUST ask yourself, "What is the priority here, the bass frequencies? Or the song as a whole?" I say don't resort to such drastic measures if overall the song just sounds better in the intended key. Feel free to experiment in other ways, and always think about the big picture. Besides that though, this video is great, i love his process of taking things out and making the arrangement less busy, that's a big hurdle that beginners always have a hard time getting over, they overthink a lot and most music we listen to, especially in hip hop, is actually only a few tracks that are just produced really well.

Anyone know what pack the Halves 808 might be from?
@themanfromvolantis8 күн бұрын
Nope but that's why im in the comments. I can tell you which it definitely isn't in. It's not in CYCLONE - Ultimate Bass Collection And it's not in RUMBLE BASS multi kit. You would think, wouldn't you, that his favorite, go to 808 would feature in his ULTIMATE BASS collection. He also says the samples are ready to use but the 808s are always in stero and I normally have to chop the beginning off and then re-refade them in.

not only setting the volume on the interface but what about volume knobs on the studio monitors , I have my speakers 50 percent . plus , I think dude was trying to make song with real drums but they were wack , then steven turned it into trap .

Should have kept some of those other sounds. And added certain parts where other sounds could have been take it out. Like a bridge or hook, for instance. At least given them a chance.
