Cymbal Making - Lathing Before Hammering?

lance campeau did this sort of thing with most of his cymbals. guess he just found the surface easier to lathe when smoother

Yes, I don't think he ever worked on unshaped blanks though, I'm happy to be corrected on this but lathing a Turkish blank before hammering throws the process in a different direction to lathing an already-shaped cymbal / formed blank.

@@Collingwoodcymbals well, he only made videos on a relatively small portion of the cymbals he sold so who knows
