That's not what underrated means. You might be thinking of overrated
@tonynorris1506 Жыл бұрын
Underrated meaning she never gets the mainstream recognition she deserves on a mainstream level these days, except by fans... I think its safe to say that being her and Madonna came out at the same time, aftsr Madonna adopted (stole) some of her gimmick, and did every controversial tactic to stay relevant, (made herself a sex symbol, ect) and stayed in the public eye longer, out of the 2, Madonna seems to be the one that actually became "Overrated" and a household name to this day, while most correlate the name Cyndi Lauper with "Girls just wanna have fun".... (Unfortunately) Just goes to show how a legacy will live amongst fans and those who were there, but whoever stays relevant in the public eye the longest is who (unfortunately) gets talked about the most, on a mainstream level at least. Kinda the same with Prince and MJ... Prince is well known, but aside from "When Doves Cry" and "Purple Rain", the younger masses dont realize how huge of a catalogue he had, and MJ gets the top spot out of the 2. Cyndi never sold out, and has probably had a much happier life due to not going the Madonna route...
