*Definitely one of the greatest and most underrated vocalists of the 21st Century!* 👑 Let's keep in mind that she did all of this completely live! (Not even with a heavy backing track like countless singers of her generation). 👏 This much talent and beauty yet she's still remained the humble and kind lady she's always been. It's despicable that the industry tried to use her introversion against her; she's a lovely Melphleg. 💐 All those "fans" who left her weren't genuine fans of her; they were simply fans of the hype. 😒 *This video had to be made and we thank you for it!* Please give us a Part 2 😍💕

@@leonalewisqt8675 Definitely the climax of hurt, those long sustained phrases are exceptional. Plus that transition in "Bridge Over Troubled Water"; it was so unexpected. And also the riff towards the end of Bleeding Love; Leona does it so effortlessly and with so much musicality that many miss how complex it is. When Natalie breaks it down, it's complexity is more evident kzbin.info/www/bejne/a36TZ4tmnb2anMUm53s kzbin.info/www/bejne/a36TZ4tmnb2anMUm1s I'll try to find more. The most underrated singer of the last 14 years!!! It's really a crime!!! Leona deserves so much more success, fame and reconizations because her voice is so unique and special even now that has changed a bit and became inconsistant due to Hashimoto disease and lack of confidence. To me she is the best singer of her generation!!! I follow Leona since 2006 and I will continue to support and follow her because I love her voice and her music!!! By the way great video!!! I hope you' ll make part 2 with performances from 2011 to 2020 to show to everyone that when Leona is confident and her voice is on her A game she still sounds fantastic and capable to do amazing things!!!

It's been 5 years since I Am. What an incredible singer that vocal range is one in a million. No talent show will ever find another singer like her. She wasn't treated right by her old label and was only fully supported for her debut album which made her the most successful solo winner from the uk x factor. I really do hope a major label signs her.

Seeing all of these clips makes it easy to understand why she has had problems with her voice - it must have taken quite a battering doing all of these runs, especially when she had done them while ill.
@JaySmith-mz7vg3 жыл бұрын
I'll definitely say she should've had a vocal rest but I don't think riffs or runs were the reason for the battering. There are gospel singers whose approach was far more agressive and they've been singing riffs and runs for over 40 years while still maintaining there instruments.

I don't think it's that fans have left, I just think many have moved on because she's not creating much in the way of new material. Back in the day I couldn't get enough of her, so I trawled the internet for ages picking up every thing I liked from her, including her leaked unreleased stuff, and although I had a hell of a lot of her material that I loved (besides all of her known stuff, 27 tracks of her rare and unreleased material, out of as many additional tracks I wasn't so keen on) I know that her complete catalogue of material was way bigger than that (got hold of a list of all of her unreleased material, and there was a lot that was never leaked) so I focused on getting her live performances. But there was a limit to what I could find, so there comes a point where you just have to treasure what you have and move on to other artists. Doesn't mean you stop being a fan (she will always be one of the, if not the greatest vocalists of all time, to me, because of the purity of her tone, even when belting, her range, transitions with speed, inflections at the end of notes, which she has sadly dropped now, and what is never mentioned much, i.e. her performance craft, knowing exactly where and how to ad lib in a song with out overdoing it, and thereby making it her own and part of her style). There are other great artists out there to follow, such as Lianne La Havas, and even artists from way back before most peoples time, that dropped new material (even if it was a few years back) such as Mica Paris, but it doesn't stop me doing a catch up binge on Leona now and again (some of her collabs have been good, the christmas collab with Dinah Jane form Fifth Harmony was super special 💕).

You talk about her best notes, but really it’s all to do with the word she is singing at the time, and how a slight variation of vowel or consonant can push to different places within the voice. Some are headier, some are chestier, some are harder, some are easier - for each individual voice. Saying that, I’ve always thought Leona has always had some tension when singing which she has had to work on.
