I think in that case, you're on your own because you worked illegally without a permit and if the authorities find out you may incur some fine or penalty. You just have to plead with your employer's conscience to get your pay or you forfeit it.

Yea, there's student work permit. I think you should discuss with your employer and he would give you more details about it.
