So right. When I was a kid, I attended parochial school. The nuns (believe it or not) taught me HOW to think, not WHAT to think. Somehow, we've come to a point where education is presented as a storehouse of facts and details rather than process and it is leaving kids without the ability to solve problems, to critically examine and navigate a world saturated with information, little of which is vetted for truth or accuracy. They don't know how to think, so they think what they are exposed to: social media, search engines, glossy websites, and slick talking hecklers. We are regressing in intelligence in America and its the Education as Job Training crowd that is to blame.

Teachers have to teach with what is already being proven, if students want to prove wrong the established method or teach teacher then s/he have to bring up some evidence or practical example! Why would she not deserve to be called professor? Is it because she challenged his statement and he couldn't defend it? The truth is that there are good police officers and there are bad police officers so you can't generalize the idea that they are all heroes. As a college student, he should know that. I'd like to know what the class was and the actual assignment. In college you should already have critical thinking skills and be prepared to support your statements not just offer up your opinions. Are there really adults that seriously don't know that there is a such thing as bad police officers? Look up the case in Texas where a married police officer murdered his 8 month pregnant mistress while in uniform and called it in. Look up the serial killer police officer from Florida that forced women into his patrol car and murdered them. Look up the officer that murdered the young woman that was on her way home after visiting a sick boyfriend and threw her over an overpass. Look up the Florida cop that raped and murdered a little girl after seeing her at a service station after the city curfew and swore up and down he told her to walk home but her body print and hand prints were found on top of his cruiser. Look up the case of the North Carolina police officer that murdered a woman he'd been stalking each night as she drove home from a strip club she was a waitress at. He stomped her neck so hard in his police boots that he broke her neck. The list goes on.

He literally called in requesting backup saying he was in pursuit of three black males. They actually questioned three males but they had receipts to prove they were at a restaurant. This police officer had actually seen them walking and called their description in before he went to kill himself.

When you can call the police to do a wellness check on a family member and said family member ends up dead , there's clearly an issue with policing.
