I went to live overseas in the mid 90's when I was 11 years old and my cousin made me a Cypress Hill tape to listen to on the plane. I can clearly remember sitting there as a little kid with my walkman on and the bass kicking in on this song and just getting consumed with butterflies and goosebumps, I devoured that tape constantly for months like it was a spiritual experience. hmm - not sure about this muggs definitely had more of a psychedelic sound to his music (more guitars, rolling basslines) rza was did use eastern influences more in his early albums - i think GZA's first album was where he really started to try some crazy stuff ( and it was good too ) but i felt like after GZA and chef's albums his style wasn't for me. I remember hearing this song late one night on MTV as a teenager and was blown away by the bass line combined with the squeaking effect, then the chorus kicked in and it was instantly a favorite. They never played it again though and I had to eventually go out and and get the album.
