Cypress Hill are one of the most important groups in hip hop, they made it ok to rap about weed lol. Nobody was before them it was considered bad back then, now weed is part of hip hop culture. I consider that a huge contribution to music, when I smoke out they get played for sure Check out Hits from the Bong, and bring some weed lol

Still remember every word from high school lol If you want to hear some metal hip hop crossover the "Judgement Night" soundtrack would pair a hip hop band with a metal band. It was pretty groundbreaking. Then spawn soundtrack had a go at it too

Damn I hate getting old. It felt surreal watching you react to this song like it’s obscure, but I guess today it might be. Please listen to all Cypress Hill albums 1991-98, especially Black Sunday and Temples of Boom-I promise you will not regret it. By the standards of that time, their beats were incredibly sophisticated, and the vibe unique and vivid. So good. If you get into them, there’s hidden tracks in Unreleased & Revamped and other albums that cycle really good beats they never ended up using. By the way, the other band with a similar sound you mention at the beginning is probably House of Pain-you’re probably thinking of Jump Around. And yeah, both Cypress Hill and House of Pain are from Cali (and both from L.A.).

Cypress Hill has three members. DJ Muggs is the one responsible for the beat. He gave it to House of Pain (which they used for Jump Around) before using it on Insane in the Brain.

I think you are thinking of House of Pain and Jump Around. Muggs from Cypress worked with them, and the Kris Kross song actually ripped off Jump Around by House of Pain, their was a law suit and everything over it, check out House of Pain's Jump Around, I am 100% you have heard it, it is played at every sports game in all of the big 4 sports.

Real fkn good mainstream Hip-Hop-Rock/Metal band (back when Mainstream used to mean something) and Cypress Hill - (Rap) Superstar followed up by Cypress Hill - (Rock) Superstar... just like Rage Against The Machine used to be on Top of the Charts because they meant something with their music! Unfortunately both bands are "dead" nowadays and i don't really know why they don't comeback to show how it's done!
