Correction: Famagusta is located in the Turkish Cypriot-administered portion of northern Cyprus. We stated it is part of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyrpus, however, this is only recognized by Turkey, and its territory is considered by all other states to be part of the Republic of Cyprus.

All cyprus places belong to cyprus. Greek Cypriots do not accept that is devided they are trying 50 years now to find a peacfull solution with Turkey but its like hitting a wall. There was an invention, a war!!! They killed and forced Greek Cypriots to leave there homes and leave that part of the island

As per UN Resolution 541 the illegally occupied northern part of Cyprus cannot be recognizd as a legitimate state because it's the result of the ethnic cleansing of the Greek Cypriot population - 80% of the residents who had maintained the Greek language and culture there since antiquity. Overall, great video!

I've been to Cyprus in October/November this year (I chose this time because it's not so hot and crowded like in the main season) and I found the Troodos mountains with these mystic forests especially beautiful. The nature vibes are amazing and I hope the natural beauties in this country won't be destroyed like in many other countries (like in my country Austria, where lynxes and wolves got wiped out by nature haters, but luckily are coming back now). Cypriots can be proud of all the beautiful forests, mountains, coasts and wildlife on their island. Nature 4 Life!

Hello! Thank you so much for this very informative video :) It's brilliant! I'm planning to go to Cyprus next year. For how long did you stay there? Is it necessary to rent a car for all those days or you can travel by plane to Paphos and get around there by public transportation until you move to Larnaca (or vice-versa)? Thanks!
@worldwildheartsАй бұрын
We were there for a month. Stayed 2 weeks in Paphos, 1 week in Larnaca, and then another week we drove around the island! Unless you want to go on several guided day tours from Paphos, it's necessary to have a rental car to reach the wine region (Omodos) and the Troodos Mountains etc. You can go from Larnaca to Paphos by public bus, that's also what we did! And there are a few things you can do by public transportation indeed (like Aphrodite's Rock)
@joanamartinspt28 күн бұрын
Hey there! Thank you so much for your answer :) one month it’s a lot of time to experience a country, i’ll be staying there just for 12 days. Still, with your recommendations, maybe i’ll get a rental car just when we arrive at Paphos. Keep up your good work showing us your unique perspective. Cheers 🥂

The northern side of Cyprus is the occupied side , not the Turkish Republic of Cyprus. It is only recognised by turkey
@worldwildhearts5 ай бұрын
Yes we are aware of the occupation / invasion that happened. We've spoken to many Cypriots about this topic. When you enter in the Turkish side there are all signs with welcome to the TRNC, that's what they call it. Don't want to offend anyone here, just making aware that some of the places are on that Turkish side and it's not that easy to just cross from one to the other side as a tourist
@stgnsw5 ай бұрын
@@worldwildhearts I know , it is just a little offensive to Cypriots , when it is called the Turkish republic of Cyprus.

@@stgnswYou shoul study the history of Cyprus in order to know the truth about the İsland. Turkey did not invade the north of Cyprus. They had to come because 15 of july 1974 Greek Cypriots started killing each other in order to unite with greece and soon after that they attact Turkish cypriots. İf turkey didn't come to protect the Turkish cypriots. There would not have been one Turkish cypriot left today

Great vlog but totally wrong about not being able to drive into the Northern Turkish occupied side. This is perfectly possible providing you take out separate insurance from the South before crossing the border. This is often possible to do at the border crossing leaving the South.
@worldwildheartsАй бұрын
We weren't allowed by the two car rental companies we rented from (one in Larnaca and the other in Paphos). Maybe certain companies do allow it. But they told us it was forbidden because of insurance issues :)

This is out of date. You can drive a Greek-side rental over the border with the minor impediment of buying an insurance certificate costing 25 Euros at the border. Going into the Greek side with a Turkish rental is not permitted currently. Also, Famagusta is a large new Turkish residential town, sprawling up the coast northwards from the old walled (Turkish inhabited) city. To the south, the Greek quarter, Varosha, having been emptied and decaying for decades since the Turkish invasion, is now opened to tourists, along limited repaved new roads - and swarms with visitors both Greek and Turkish - gawping at the picturesque decay. There is a joint Turkish-Greek masterplan for renewal, under discussion. Leaving Turkish Famagusta for the Greek side, you first enter the British sovereign territory of the Dhekelia enclave, the border is amiably manned by UK staff. Border formalities at the seven or so crossing points across the island are minimal and quickly dealt with. Visitors will be surprised by the high-quality European Community financed roads and motorways on the Greek side, and the competence of urban development. On the Turkish side things are poorer, more ragged and ill-managed, in particular the vast sprawling hideous quarries in the Kyrenia range beneath Buffavento. On both sides, innumerable things of interest and value are there to be enjoyed.
