This was an awesome video. I love that you delve into the political situation and what that means, practically, for tourists. I also liked that you didn't just say "oh yeah, the safe Greek side is the better side - don't go to Northern Cyprus." I think the "less safe" feeling is inevitable for anyone not Turkish; there is limited to no consular support if something goes wrong, but undoubtedly, for adventurous travellers, the Turkish side is way more interesting.

The reason why Cyprus has so much Greek history is because the Mycean Greeks have been inhabiting there since the late bronze age. The Achaean Greeks were colonizing Cyprus from 1210-1000 BC. Dorian Greeks arrived in 1100 BC. Cyprus was under the Greek empire from 333 BC when Alexander the Great conquered it. Cyprus became the first official Christian country in 313 AD and then became part of the Greek Orthodox tradition in 431 AD. Cyprus was under the Byzantine Empire from 330-1191AD and Greek has always been the main language since Myceans in the late bronze age.

Hi nice video your using wrong dialogue,there's not Turkish or greek side it's Cyprus north occupied side with an unrecognised state .south Cyprus which is the republic.Just because greek and Turkish is spoken doesn't reflect what Cyprus is .Cyprus is independent from Greece
