Excellent video and insight into your connections with Cyprus and reasons for moving there. My Mother's family come from Eptakomi so not far from Agios Andronikos and my Father comes from Lythrodontas. But like you I was born in the UK and consider the option of moving out there one day in the years to come. Thank you George for the video and congratulations on your first KZbin Anniversary! What a great way to celebrate your first year! 🎉 I loved that you were at Fig Tree Bay. This is where I had my first ever holiday abroad and we stayed for 2 weeks. We stayed at the Louis King Alkinoos but I don’t think it’s there anymore or at least not being used as a hotel. This was 28 years ago now! I haven’t managed to come back to Cyprus but I will one day. This is actually how I found your channel, reminiscing about the great holiday I had as a kid. Missed your live vlog it was lovely to hear how you decided to move to Cyprus my late husband and I made up our minds to buy a place in Paphos after only 2 visits to the island as we loved it so much which was 20 years ago. We were going to stay longer in Paphos when we retired but things didn't work out for us. I can't wait to be back in Paphos in September after nearly 2 years because of Covid. 😎🙂🌞

Hi George, regarding retiireing to Cyprus one topic I get mixed information about is the minimum amount of money you require to live on per year or a fixed amount of cash in a bank account ? Great videos by the way.

We keep seeing all sorts too but think it's 15k euro in the bank and 10k income a year for 1 person 15k for couple. Loads of companies on the www prob best to talk to one for definitave answer Douglas.

I do a few odd jobs now. Su does volunteering at blind cat sanctuary. Money no where near as much as UK, but keeps me out of trouble.

I was walking around penera Anaïs bay area some of the property was from 70:000 euro for an apartment and 160:000 for a small villa I'm hoping to retire in protaras in about 20 years

Great Video clip George .We want to move to North Cyprus. But we keep getting different feedback. We know its not like the south, but would like your take on that part of Cyprus. And can you tell me we're this beach is that you are filming thanks.

The 1st beach is fig tree bay, the 2nd is pernera outside zafarois the 3rd is agia thekla. The north can be dodgy as a lot of houses are built on land that belongs to greek Cypriots displaced in the 74 war. So if you but make sure the property comes with pre 74 deeds. TRNC is not a recognised county. There are some stunning beaches and great places but caution is needed if buying.

We almost made it. We put a deposit down on a country house a few months ago, but we got cold feet when we found out the problems with not being from EU. Can not stay for more than 90 days can not rent out house when not there , stay out of Cyprus more than 90 days and lose reserdency . We were very lucky, the sellers gave us our money back, which shows why we want to live with these wonderful people. I think the Cyprus government needs to make it easier for Brits to buy, or the island is going to lose a lot of money. We still want to come , hopefully we can try again one day.
