So hard to accept this. And only came across her videos today. ....was she in acoma after the stroke? They should have never taken off the life support.
@Jb-tb8mn
@Jb-tb8mn 5 жыл бұрын
@@pointonelectronics she was in a coma after she got sepsis. She was in a medically induced coma after the stroke (after her lung transplant).. People who have massive strokes get medically induced and don't normally come back from that. They put them into a coma to reduce the pressure to their brain from swelling. Had she survived she would have been a completely different person (dependant on others to live and do everyday things) basically a vegetable. Her mother said it was in her advance directive that she didn't want to live like that. They honored Claires wishea and removed her from life support. She never woke up after surgery so she went peacefully..

It's been awhile. Just a brief post to let everyone know that she's still on many of our minds, and STILL having a positive impact. Personally, her empathy, bravery and tenacity were life changing. In the past 6 years, I've seen nearly every sunset, literally stop and smell the roses, and place far more value on helping others than material things. I'm 49 now, and I still haven't lived half the life, or loved it half as well, as Claire. She's my hero. No s***.

I am so angry about her death. She got new lungs finally and she dies from blood cloth! That is doctors fault. It is unacceptable. She was amazing, stunning, smart, fun. I loved watching her videos no matter how hard the topic was. I always deal with things that are sad with anger, as it is not fair, it is not fair for this young woman to die, especially not just after she got new lungs.

While it was hugely tragic that she had cystic fibrosis and was suffering immensely because of it and it is a terminal diagnosis, a double lung transplant is an enormously risky surgery and complications are almost inevitable. It's one of those surgeries where the doctors check that their malpractice insurance is paid up. It is awfully sad that Claire had such a short life here with her loved ones.

Just watched a Webtoon called +99 Wooden Stick, the Starlight Flower chapter starting from 35 reminded me of this and how this story probably repeats many more times than my human heart can handle... edit: IT WAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY I CANT DO THIS OH MY GOD, WAAAAAAH I CANT stay strong brothers and sisters stay strong holy mother of god Jesus, The One Above All, the Almighty and whatever else possible gods if there is a god, let them live happy lives if not us. They deserve it most of all, they struggled the harshest at the youngest of ages. Why oh world oh god... okay... i collected myself... Of her story Shine on Claire, and the many many beautiful souls like you. We'll remember and pass on your memories, and the children who had this happen before technology could immortalize their memories, and the children who chose to or did not do so after the age of technology. We'll remember you guys, we'll remember each other. Maybe not through your names, not through your words even, but your story. Told and passed on beyond the eons of time. We all live on, in our future. Shine bright and fly high, my beloved brothers and sisters, we'll meet again soon

I'm 46 and have lived in constant chronic pain for the past 13 years and whenever I needed a pick-me-up I would watch one of Claire's videos and I'm actually crying because I'm heartbroken she's gone after a successful lung transplant but I'm so glad that she donated her organs. I hope that if anything, this will inspire others to become organ donors and it's not always as easy as ticking the box on your driver's license. I'm in a state where I actually had to send in a special form I printed off of our state's website and had to have witnesses sign it. So please make sure you're doing everything you can do help others once you're gone. And I hope that Claire's family is surrounded by love in in this truly sad moment.

I'm lucky that way. I've only lived in stated where signing up as an organ donor was easy. I've always volunteered my organs, in spite of the savage personal attacks from both sides of my family. Luckily, I didn't die before age 18, so my organ can go where they're needed, if anyone still wants them.

Its sad that, we have all this technology, but we still have failure. I know we arent perfect and that we cant do things perfect. But she knew the risk. And she was brave to take those risk. I hope that it was an easy pass, and no suffering was involved. If you or a loved one are in pain and needing of surgeries, always think about "will it get worse? Is it worth it?". And if you dont trust the situation, or feel completely uncomfortable and that reassurance isnt right, then your gut may be saying dont do it.

The thing with Claire is, despite knowing her time on this earth was more temporary than most, she strived. She was more comfortable in her skin and proud than most of us with another 60 years on our belt will ever be. I could not begin to imagine the depth of living with her illness, or any other kind for that matter. But I would like to thank her for standing up in stride, and living her life to the fullest, inspiring us all to believe in whatever it is we stand for. Claire you are always in my thought. Rest well. ❤️
