Please don't listen to the people saying MSG has more sodium in chat, it literally has 1/3rd the sodium of salt and a quick google search can dispel any such rumors. I've used it a lot in my cooking to no ill effect! In fact, MSG is naturally present in foods like tomatoes! Just don't go super duper overboard with it or you might get a lil headache...

Malaysian here, and I definitely suggest you try an authentic Malaysian sambal belacan 🤭 some are a little sweet, but they're mainly spicy (the red would be the truckload of chillies in it) for that extra oomph in your meal. Bring a couple chocolate bars or milk though because some sambal you REALLY don't want to mess with, a thumb-size of sambal may be enough to send you to the toilet lol
@AGUSTIN-zc5iu
@AGUSTIN-zc5iu Жыл бұрын
But for some of us, going straight to toilet is really worth for that punch-in-the-face spiciness high the sambals can get you. 😂 But if you're not into that stuff, then don't.

Ok, so a tiny background as a person from the UK. Jamie Olivers whole image now is cheap meals that people can make at home. He had a whole campaign where he reforrmed british school meals cuz it was all just nuggets and chips. So when he makes meals he uses supermarket ingredients that cook fast. I.e. minute rice and stuff. He is a good chef his restaurants are actually nice, just with his online content he has a different direction. It does look gross tho 😂
@aruakise9803
@aruakise9803 Жыл бұрын
Lol no he's a shit cook who peaks at mediocre. He's a joke to most of the professional cooking world for a reason. His restaurants have tons of issues. He's just an upper class condescending jackass who genuinely believed that poor people are poor because they make shit financial choices. Instead of it being the result of a complicated mix between historio-cultural factors, time and education. His 'Asian' cuisine is just outright inedible vomit while his various western ones range from bland to overly oily. What good he's done is few and far between and it's more others than him himself. Let alone the abominations he produced out of some MENA, afro Caribbean and Cajun food. The healthy bit is the funniest because like his shit is so fucking oily that it's barely better health wise while being far worst in taste (and far more expensive). Like damn at least if you go to a pub for some greasy food it'll taste good and not be ridiculously overpriced.

As Thai and I ate all curry. I’d say Japanese curry is very different from Thai’s coconut milk and spicy curries. Like, Green, Red are originally SPICY while something is less spicy like Orange or Yellow curry. (Yellow is mildest one). - Our curries is likely to be compared with India’s more, as we’re in with spicy. Japanese on the other hand, they’re likely to be a “stew” and no coconut milk in it. Japanese’s taste saltier and sweeter compare to ours too. - Some of our curry doesn’t have English name or “curry in it’s name such as “พะแนง” (Phanaeng) or even “ผัดพริกขิง” (

Some suggestions for flavouring your rice I can think of would be fresh herbs like sage or dry spices like basil when you're cooking it, salt free butter if you want to go old fashioned when it's cooked, replace one cup of water with chicken stock when cooking, and apparently sodium free salt is a thing.

So, when you cook stuff on high heat it can burn, that is common knowledge. A bit less common knowledge is the fact that sugar is what is burning a lot of the times. This means that he added Jam, which contains sugar, and got it to the stage were it was burning and added the water to fix that, but ruined the entire dish.

Mushrooms are amazing in curry. I feel like vegetables in curry are like toppings on pizza. You can throw a bunch of different combinations in and it'll be fine. The sauce is the important bit. My personal favorite curry is a chicken vindaloo with zucchini, bell pepper, and mushrooms with jasmin rice. I'm obviously not trained or an expert, I just really like food and cooking new things.

CYYU, as someone who's had kidney stones myself (and I am sorry for that pain), the point is that you need to basically triple your water intake and exercise to vibrate your body to assist in not letting them form. Reducing your salt will do jack shit if you don't do that (admittedly, I don't exercise- my last healthy decision on that led to me crashing and tearing my right ACL. No excuse for it, but that's the take.)

I know this video is like a year old. So you've probably found a workaround. But try Sumac as a salt substitute it doesn't work for everything. But it's known as the middle eastern msg. And it's really tasty. It adds a tart salty/lemony flavor to just about anything as long as it's got fat/oil or moisture to diffuse into. It will tend to soak up moisture itself a little so you may have to give it a couple of tries to find a balance. And then you said Kibbeh Naiyeh a man of taste already I see of course you know about Sumac XD
