Quick video of shooting the last couple of playing cards I'd set up on top of the target holder at 50m.

Интесно, можно с ней на охоту птичью? Дальность стрельб около 150 метров. Доброго дня.

You probably could go bird hunting with this one, or rabbits, varmints etc. The size and weight would make it very easy to use in that environment.

Good shooting! Which base model did you start with? If you did it all over again would you stick with the 16inch barrel or go longer to the 20 inch? Planning out my build now. Currently have the 20 inch thin american barrel but plan to upgrade to either the varmint or mtr barrel.

@stephenstackhouse2133 the original rifle was a CZ 457 Pro Varmint Tactical with the 16 barrel, but the non-match chamber version that the MTR has. There is now a version of this with the MTR match chamber. For a shorty it is REALLY accurate, even out to 200m, but at the longer distances, the 20in barrel will give you extra accuracy. The main difference I've noted between the standard varmint barrel (either 16in or 20in) and the MTR barrel (which is the same used on the MTR, LRP and the new "Trainer") is the match chamber on the MTR barrel is tighter, so you can't run the bolt quite as fast as you can on the varmint, plus they seem to be a little pickier when it comes to ammo, and like the better quality stuff. Hope this helps !

@@Its_range_daythank you so much! Love shooting cheap 22lr, might just buy a second rifle with the mtr barrel, going aftermarket the cost really starts to add up

Nice shooting! What ammo are you running?

I think I was using GECO Rifle for this one @PT9mmWraith. Unfortunately it's not available in Australia at the moment.
@PT9mmWraith5 ай бұрын
@markfussell9313 I'm building a similar 457 right now but 20in barrel. Looks like geco doesn't export to US either.

Nice @PT9mmWraith. I've found each of my CZ's seem to like different ammo, but CCI Standard Velocity seems to work reasonably well with all of them, considering the price. If I need better accuracy, as opposed to just general plinking, I'll grab SK (when I can get it) or Eley, Norma's TAC-22 isn't bad either.

Did you paint it yourself? If so, do those areas come off for easier painting?
@Its_range_day5 ай бұрын
I did @BIGDEZUL, and it’s easy to take apart. The front rails are held on by three bolts, and the middle black section (with the MDT logo) is held on by two. From there you could paint the rear in one piece, but I undid all the bolts in the stock, and took that apart as well, so I ended up with two large rear pieces, and the two front rails for painting.

@@Its_range_day that’s what I thought you did. Is that a rattle can job or cerakote?

@@Its_range_day wow. It looks great for rattle can! How’s it holding up? Did you use a primer or matte clear? Sorry for the questions!
@Its_range_day5 ай бұрын
@@BIGDEZUL I didn’t user a primer, as the texture of the XRS isn’t super smooth, so the matt finish stuck well. I think I put a matt clear coat over the top, but either way it’s held up well ! Stupidly, I repainted it in what I had hoped would be more like a FDE, but it’s too light, so I’ll be repainting it green again this weekend.
