I had a CZ 453 Varmint in 17 hmr and it would group your thumbnail reliably at 100yds as long as conditions were still. That was with Hornady 17g vmax.

Brill as always, had my Synthetic for three months now, after about a thousand rounds it is shooting really consistently. Mainly using Norma subs ( and not one dud round ) By far the best choice for pesting imo. Fun target as well, hitting a six inch steel at 150 yards.

150 yards is my crow kill distance, so satisfying, Hornady 17 grain, love this calibre!

Great review. I have the 457 17hmr and it is an amazing round but I’m not sure weather it’s the moderator or not but yours seems to be louder

Thank you Chris a helpful review as always. Can you give us an estimate of your real world group sizes at 100 metres please? As a mediocre shooter I am getting about 1.5 inch ten shot groups at that distance with 17 GR Federal V Max ammunition. Thank you.

It’s a shame you didn’t use the Federal 17gr ammo, I have the same rifle and although mine groups ok with Hornady, I found the federal store be best 😊 great video though

Also, I’m glad it’s not just mine that hates Winchester ammo, I was getting hang fires or dead man’s click atleast one in every 10 rounds

My 457 also likes the federal black tip. I shot some cci A17 today and had some good results with that too.

Yeah, I'd like to see that comparison too! I love my CZ 457's one in .22 WMR and my two .22 LR's, and I'd consider a 457 in .17 HMR, but I already own an Anschutz 1517 and I would like to know how the CZ stacks up to the Anschutz. I enjoy all your videos Chris! Keep up the good work!

@Steven Lord I glass bed all my rifles, and it works for me,it helps with flyers. Or you can buy a thousand dollar McMillan stock. Just saying.
