Depending on the ammo. Some surplus 7.62x25 was made for SMG like the Ppsh 41 and 43. This ammo is hotter and will create a big muzzle blast when fired from a handgun. Probably not a good idea to shoot the SMG ammo out of a pistol.

@@LET4M4RUas far as how it was issued yes, design wise no, the CZ is a roller delayed over complex action where the tokarev is a simplified browning locked breach design, the CZ ejects with alot more pressure and is more prone to tearing cases in half, especially with surplus SMG ammo, whereas the tokarev eats that shite like cheerios.

Got me one of these beauts about a year or so ago, and it's one of my favorite ones I own simply because of how both retro and futuristic I think it looks at the same time.
I remember reading for years that this pistol was allegedly an incredibly strong action that could handle exceptional pressures due to its locking mechanism. That was in almost every gun mag. Then destructive tests showed the thin spot at the bottom of the chamber made it burst at something like a 20% over pressure load. So much for that theory!

A nice CZ52 but the finish looks a little off compared to mine. Mine came with a holster and second magazine and I paid $300 for it a few years ago. I have since bought a third magazine as I have at least 3 magazines for every pistol I own and rotate then out every few months. For a while 7.62x25 Tokarev ammo from S&B or PPU was actually cheaper than 9X19MM so I stocked up on it. Both brands shoot fine through my CZ52 or TT33. I even have some S&B Personal Defense ammo but I am not sure why I bought it as I do not carry either of these as an EDC.

If it was just a double stacked magazine with a magazine release by the slide it would have really been something!
@LET4M4RU9 ай бұрын
the grip would be too large if it was fitted to receive double-stacked mags. This is a 70 years old gun, double stack magazines weren't as popular as they are today. And to be fair, when you got a round as punchy as 7.62TT, you don't really need 25 rounds

@@Josh93B93 just because some guns like the Browning Hi Power was using ds doesn't mean the entire world was. I never said double stack was non-existent 70y ago. Not by a long shot. However the norm back then was single stack for handguns, to accommodate handling, as double stack would increase grip size. That is exceptionally true on Soviet side, where even the TT33's successor, the Makarov, still was using single stack.
