Not many guns better out of the box then the pcr very underrated pistol

Great vid there Matt --- carry the pcr since 2017. G10 grips, Tru-Glo sights, ss guide rod, billet end plate for magazines. When I wonder if I need another carry gun --- (not just want) --- it just comes back to that I'm good with this

Nice video, very helpful. I'm leaning towards the PCR for daily carry, after mostly being a revolver guy. I have an M9, which I love, but a bit bulky for edc. And I prefer DA/SA...CZ seems like a great option. Thanks!

Really great comparison. I have 4 CZs and 3 berettas and your review is spot on. My small CZ is actually the compact which is metal framed and heavier than the PCR, but I have found that while the berettas shoot softer I like the ergos better with the CZ and am more accurate with it.

Recently bought a Betetta 92X RDO ( optic ready and shorter trigger reset) and a CZ 75 PO1 omega. Great pistols and I shot them as well as my Glocks right out of the box. The CZ 75 fits in my hand better than any pistol I have shot.

Most honest and best comparison I've seen on the CZ and Beretta. I own and like both of them. I shoot my Beretta 92x with just irons most accurately than all my guns. Have to say I still love my CZs as well.

Great video! Additionally if the round does not fire you can pull trigger a second time. That is very comforting as well. PCR is outstanding. The no snag sights also are great. I shine light for a second to illuminate sights. Great Job ⚓️

You can get Tritium night sights for your PCR, I put them on mine. They are Dawson Precision night sights from Cajon Gunworks, I really like how they are no snag low profile like the factory originals.

I carry a CZ P-01 a lot, which is a PCR with a full length dust cover and a light rail. What you said about mastering a double-action trigger pull is 100% correct. After much DA practice, I have better trigger technique overall, and I find I'm a lot less of a trigger snob than I used to be. I also agree that a DA/SA pistol seems a lot safer to carry/draw/reholster than a striker gun. As far as ergonomics go, any CZ with LOK 'palm-swell' grips feels like it grew out of your hands and points very naturally. I have LOKs on both my CZs.

Way safer to draw and Re holster - especially if you hold your thumb on the hammer 👍

Hi Guy, just discovered your channel today. I own both of these pistols, almost. I own the PCR, and everything you said about it is absolutely true. It is a fantastic pistol. But there are a couple of things you didn't mention about it that are worth talking about. First are the green sights. They are phosphorescent sights and can be charged to glow rather brightly for short term use. This gives you night sights for up to 30 minutes if they are charged with either bright sunlight or a flaslight. European police who have CZ's with these sights are trained to, if possible, shine their flashlight on the signts before entering a dark area for about a minute to two minutes and they have "temporary" night signts. The next thing to talk about is the slide. This is no big deal for a young strong guy like yourself, but it can be an issue for an old geezer like me. Because of the CZ's design, there is not a lot of real estate on the slide to grasp. You can probably only get your fingertips on the slide to rack it, and if you have arthritis or decreased hand strength, you may have trouble with that. I have some days that my hands just aren't up to the PCR's slide. The slide on the Beretta 92X is easier in this regard. Finally, if the PCR is going to be someone's only pistol, also used for home defense, the buyer might look at the very similar CZ P01, which has a light rail, and all the great features of the PCR. When I said I almost owned both of these guns, I meant that my Beretta 92X is the Compact version with no rail which is sadly no longer in production. It has beautiful lines that are not spoiled by a light rail. I have plenty of plastic blasters with light rails. I was offered mine new at a deep LE discount in 2020 so I bought it. The Compact, when used with standard magazines, holds one more round than the PCR, and is actually a bit shorter in the gip than the PCR. It weights 31.25 ounces empty, which is 4 ounces heavier than the PCR. But, like you, I really like the balance of a Centurion. So I have the full length Beretta 17 round magazines with X-grips on them, which add about a half inch to the butt of the gun as well as extra capacity. They give a whole different feel to the Compact grip and turn it into the full-size model.. But if you need the gun to be shorter in the butt, all you have to do is change magazines. If I had to choose one of these or the other, I'd probably choose the 92X Compact. Both are fine pistols, but I think the Beretta has a slightly better trigger, and very good sights, and I have that hand strength issue with CZ's. But the CZ has a great grip, and is easier to personalize with Lok and other panels. These two, along with my SIG P226 are my favorite DA/SA handguns.

@@thorshammer5134 I never considered a 2011 a ccw/duty. I think its a superior competition gun than stock cz and beretta. Even a cajunized cz is not better than a staccato in competition. Maybe all steel shadow 2/SAO/SP01 Shadow with cajun. Beretta LTT is on par if not superior than all.

I have a 92x centurion with LTT trigger job in a bag, and a P-01 with CGW's ultralight kit. The LTT trigger is better than the P-01 with CGW ultralight kit, but the overall weight difference (nearly half a pound) is noticeable even with a good belt/holster. I find myself carrying the P-01 more often lately, just because of the weight/comfort, but I love them both. Both with red dots btw. Thanks for the video

Just want to put it out there even if it’s already known. On safety CZ’s, the safe way to decock it is as soon as you pull the trigger, let the trigger go all the way out BEFORE letting the hammer fall. You’ll notice that a safety will kick in and the hammer will not go all the way down since the trigger isn’t being pressed. Of course you shouldn’t rely on that safety and you should really control the hammer’s descent.
@johnhoffman5844 Жыл бұрын
You can decock the Beretta then take the safety off to carry in traditional da mode

I have the PCR and it is a great shooting gun with manageable recoil with the factory rubber grips. Did the Lok grips affect the recoil at all?
@ChickenSoupMusic Жыл бұрын
Best thing about lok grips is you can get them in different sizes with different palm swells so you can get a better grip / get up on the trigger better if you don’t have a perfect grip with the standard ones. They’re also a bit stickier. If you get the grip right it does help with the recoil a bit.

Lighten up the hammer spring (14lb works for me), convert to decocker-only, and install a metal trigger (if yours is plastic). These three things will make a world of difference on a Beretta. Nice video Matt.

The PCR already has the metal trigger and decocker stock. Cajunize the trigger and its in another league.

Fun Fact: If you click the decocking lever but don’t release it and squeeze the trigger and then release the lever, it will bring the hammer all the way forward without discharging the gun. Test it at the range if you don’t believe me.

Good video man. Regarding the Beretta safety system. Mine came as the F model. I did the conversion to the G model and while I kinda liked the decocker only, it was still too bulky. I went back to the F setup but used the Wilson Combat low profile single side safety and it’s a series game changer. Impossible to accidentally activate but still useable if you be WANT to. You can use normal slide manipulations like overhand racking without issue. It’s my biggest upgrade recommendation for the 92X series. Even more than the the Langdon Trigger bar and Elite II hammer - which in also recommend. Makes the already great trigger just that much better and really gives up nothing to the Sig P-series SRT guns.
