The recoil impulse is so much better than any G19 I have ever shot, no comparison. My daily carry, over 2.5k rounds with zero malfunctions. Only things I’ve done to it is double the cost by adding an optic, talon grips and dpm recoil system and light.

Thank you, sir! Yeah, the Walther PDPs/PPQs/P99s are fantastic. My P99 is probably favorite striker-fired pistol. But... I own and carry a P10S every day for the last 2 years. It shoots accurate, the out of the box trigger is great and due to how flat it shoots, follow up shots are a breeze. My only gripe with the P10 Series of pistols are, the spiral roll pins holding the front and rear inserts, it's literally the Achilles heel of the P10. It's mind boggling that CZ has not moved over to push pins like S&W and Canik. BTW Glock has been using push pins since day one.

Nice assessment man, just subbed to you 👍 I had kind of recently picked up a P10c which was notable to me since I only had one other striker type pew. I specifically wanted something like my VP9. Like you, I mostly preferred da/sa or 1911s for the better part of 20 years. I wanted something that was very similar to the VP9 and that might be like how I’d want a Glock to be if they would just finally make a generation that seemed like, well a new generation. Overall, I think I picked a good option out there on the market that compares very well to my VP9, and the price was really reasonable.

Great thoughts, you clearly know quite something about many guns. As a CZ shareholder, I must say that "we" made progress in adjusting details in a simply clever way - the philosophy really is to get to the top by pure meritocracy, not by marketing which our famous Austrian colleague did rather well. CZ P-10C is still a rather ordinary pistol by looks, not that far from the Glock, and it was mass-purchased by ordinary institutions like the Czech police and army. I think that lots of people may still pay the double and they should try the CZ Shadow 2 Compact instead. With at least the same quality of the trigger and other things as P-10C, it has 2-5% greater linear dimensions, 10% extra weight, but the fit and finish simply is at a higher level than the P-10C. The Shadow 2 pistols have a real character, the extra color symbolizes it.
@HipsterTactical
@HipsterTactical Ай бұрын
Hey, thank you for the kind words! The video speaks for itself, of course--but I think "you" did a great job in making an "ordinary" pistol shoot and feel... special. From a business standpoint, I think it speaks to the same customers of your Austrian counterpart, but it offers a tangible point of difference in terms of the shooting and handling; like you said, merit not marketing. I'd love to try a Shadow 2 Compact! Or a full size model. A little expensive for me right now, but someday. Let me know if I can ever assist with product reviews or anything else that pertains to marketing (that's what I do for my "day" job). Thanks again!
@lumajs
@lumajs Ай бұрын
Thanks, you should ideally be sent some other guns to try. Too bad I don't have the courage to persuade someone now. The optimization of the grip, adequate pressure of the trigger, speed of operations, small details on the shape... All these things are somewhat typical for Czech engineering when it works. If you drove Škodas with their simple clever details, you would probably agree it is a similar strategy of optimization which isn't quite revolutionary but isn't tiny, either. Like the Smart Dials controls, umbrellas in doors, icescrapers with magnifying glass, magnets and hooks to secure luggage in the trunk, charging cable on the bottom of the trunk door instead of beneath the luggage, dozens of other details. The compact Shadow is better with optics. It would be painful otherwise after CZ bought a prominent optics company. The purchase of Sellier and Bellot ammunition was way more expensive but the leaders of CZ obviously concluded that ammunition and not just guns is what the epoch of wars might need. There is various interesting progress. Among rifles, Bren "1" was subpar, Bren 2 fixed the main bugs. So Bren 3 is out now, with modular construction. The heart around the trigger and what does the work is the same, all the peripheries are completely new, and the whole is made even more robust and unbreakable simply because the fights in Ukraine have shown that it is needed. For videos and to impress friends on one's garden, one may play with a rifle in the mud etc. But on the battlefront, one sees that this controlled resilience is still not enough. Things have to be made really well given Czechs' hostility to hype and jealousy. However, emotions do exist, the acquisition of Colt was the cutest moment because lots of us were breastfed with Karl May and Westerns and Colt is the top brand there. The romantic love to America here is still partly a relationship to America of the 1830s or so when Czechs started to move to red states to help the solid foundation of rednecks, so different from other groups. It just happens that Lemonade Joe, the most famous Czech parody Western from 1964 or so, has many lines about a Smith and Wesson hanging damn low. Most people believe that the movie talks about Colt, anyway. So the decades of Colt's struggling are unknown here, even to relative gun experts.

A lot of people talk bad about CZ and praise colt in the same breath. Then I realise they don't know CZ owns Colt, so I get to tell them lol. This 'review' or thoughts on the P-10C is easily the most accurate and realistic to what its like to own a P10C. I've owned Sig, Canik, Glock and went to a local gun show and was able to handle dozens of 9mm options. At its price point of $550 and bellow, its easily the best option out there. If i go up in price, then the more refined H&K, Sigs, Walther's and Gucci-Glocks start to make it apparent why those cost 25-100% more. I see this firearm as a the perfect, utilitarian tool. Its like a Casio G-shock if you were to compare it to watches. Its giving you a lot for your money, but its not trying to be anything more than what its intended to be. I really appreciate his perspective on the trigger. I too feel that the trigger could be made better. But here is the thing, It's already better than Sig and Glock, so why should it be any better? its because the platform / foundation is SOO good that it can handle it. It's like driving a base model car like a BMW 320i and noticing a bit that the balance and proportions are excellent. You start thinking, 'wouldn't it be great to tune it?' Next things you know you've got a M3. It is all because the foundation to start with was able to reveal the opportunity for more. Nobody would ever think that for a Prius because it was compromised from the beginning. That to me is why the Gucci Glocks dont make sense. Yes, they feel and shoot great, However, you are having to fix all the problems/flaws to just end up paying 2x the price.

I never warmed up to the P10s. I remember when it first came out, it was touted as THE Glock killer, but look at it now, it's being blown out for $350 vs the $650 it was at launch. I agree with your points in the review, it's impressive what CZ pulled off with it from a technical standpoint. There are so many little things about it that turned me off of it, though... better than good enough, but not by that much. I think CZ can make a better pistol with what they learned with on the P10. With how cheap the prices have gotten on them, I'dve bet a P10 Gen 2 would have come out at least a couple years ago, but surprisingly that hasn't happened yet.

I love that you are laying down some truth here. I’m not a Glock enthusiast AT ALL, but they’re reliable…Glock makes a decent pistol I must admit. But being one of the only firearms manufacturers that had as big of a buzz feed around them and so many years have gone by with every Glock fanboy and fangirl touting the design like it’s the end all pistol, I can see why people as of 2024 like to hate on them, however they [Glock] aren’t crazy famous with one of the most hard headed and staunchly dedicated fan bases for no reason. My point, which I believe is your point as well is that they’re nowhere near the quality of the P-10…I’ve never held a more balanced Polymer framed Pistol…or fired a striker design that has a totally crispy and definitive, clean break with small reset. Not crispy like a 1911, or any single action hammer fire gun, but damn good considering the P-10 has displayed zero creep and uber consistent trigger travel, and that is a shocker for me, because most striker fire pistols I’ve fired had what felt like a variable on when the trigger wall would break and the gun would discharge. Not the P-10. Same wall every shot, every time. Lastly, not that really matters where it counts, but the P-10 is also sexier in looks than any Glock I’ve ever laid eyes on. Great review man, I have the same view. It’s a Glock Grinder.

Thanks so much for the compliments, my friend. Yeah, I think we’re on the same page… Glocks are good guns. No doubt. But with the work CZ put into ergonomics, trigger and overall feel, I just feel-objectively-the P-10 is a better product. Glocks have always “won” on paper, in terms size, weight, capacity, reliability and price. But think CZ adds a layer of enhanced shootability into that equation. Thanks again and take care!

They were carrying Glock 17s but told me they were switching to the P10 series. If its good enough for them to carry in Afghanistan it is definitely good enough for me. I had CZ P10S previously and now I own G19 MOS as they are close in size. P10s shoots great and the trigger is definitely better than stock Glock trigger, but new Glock performance trigger is superior to CZs trigger. And since Glock is easier to mantain and replace parts, has cheaper mags and where I live its almost the same price P10 kinda lost point for me.

I like the p10c but i cant say it’s *better* than a glock 19. If you can shoot a p10c but not a glock, then you can’t shoot. Personally the increase in size makes carrying the p10c more like a g17, and the texture seems too sharp for iwb

At this point, I can shoot just about anything... as long as it has proper rifling and a sub-20lb trigger. But there's no reason not to choose what feels more natural and intuitive. And I suspect most people will find the P-10 more natural than a Glock. Though that's certainly not a given.

If you can shoot a P10C, why would you need to shoot a G19? Seems like a strawman. I simply refused to pay $200 or for a gen 5 Glock for a stick of butter design and a grip angle I hate and the Dagger would need a trigger after purchase. CZ was a one and done for sub $400.

@ Holy fanboy, i bought a police trade in 17 with night sights for 100 dollars less than a p10. Everyone needs to be able to shoot a glock well, because they’re by far the most common platform around. The p10 isn’t more reliable, accurate, or shootable than a glock. I can certainly understand preferring the p10, its grip is more natural to me and i prefer the aesthetics and oem metal sights. I also love shooting them both equally, but I prefer the glock simply to be ubiquitous and enjoy the increased aftermarket and availability of parts. I also still believe the 19 is a better carry gun than a p10c, it’s noticeably smaller and has a more conducive grip texture.

@@josephlegacy929 Enjoy your G17. I bought mine for a helluva price too. I like it. It's a good gun. But I think the P-10 is better--not because it's more reliable, but because it's designed better in terms of its human interface. And I absolutely thing the P-10 platform is more shootable than a Glock--though that's not to say Glocks are poor shooters.

@@HipsterTactical I think if that was the case p10s would dominate the competition market, but they don’t. If you *can’t* get used to the glock grip angle you either haven’t shot one enough or you just have a hate boner for glock. Im not a glock fanboy, im just trying to be objective here. My favorite handgun is still the 1911 which is so far removed from glock that I should have every reason to hate them. When I started shooting they 1911s pointed more naturally for me, but after even just a small amount of time and training the difference was gone. I also appreciate the exaggerated angle from a recoil control perspective. Yes the p10 has a more natural grip for most people, but that doesn’t mean the p10 magically shoots better than glocks.

I dig the p10 series for sure buuut….aside from a marginal advantage from the trigger, Gen 5 Glocks get the job done & I have invested too much time to really change - and a minus connector/polish fixes that heavy feel without sacrificing reliability, and my groupings are identical to the p10c. The only other polymer striker I have is the M&P. For a 1st time shooter though, I definitely encourage people to rent a p10/M&P/PDP/FN 509/Canik or even the new Echelon along with a Glock before deciding which to get. Can’t really go wrong with any of these brands as far as maintenance and options for the average shooter.

So I don’t own a p10c I went with the s model. I actually traded the last glock I owned towards it. So I’m not a glock hater I have owned 3 of them I want to like them but I just can’t. They don’t feel good in the hand blah blah all the reasons people don’t like them. I really think you get so much more for the money with the cz 50 to 75 bucks cheaper locally anyways. The finish is very good I have a p07 same thing they don’t scuff easy. Your getting metal sights with most would agree a better sight picture and there night sights your not paying extra for any of this like glock metal mag release maybe not a deal breaker but if you want that for glock your are paying extra. And this is just to me I’m not an expert but I have worked in a few machine shops in my life the cz feels better made the rails are beefy the chamber is fully supported is that needed for a 9mm probably not but it just kinda shows that it’s over built I believe it can take every bit of abuse cz claims to have put it through. The barrel cold hammer forged in house I believe. Like said in this video and I would have to agree with just about everything said in this review it’s a very good one and I’ll be subbing to the channel glocks are great guns cz just did this better.

DA/SA triggers suck. Nothing is as sweet as a 1911 trigger. Second would be a Colt or Smith revolver in single action. That said, if I don't know where I'll end up I'd choose to pack a Glock. Why? because they all work the same, and they all work (unless you start tinkering with them). More guns, more rounds, more situations than CZ. Proven track record. Still pretty much the same gun that was introduced, what, 40+ years ago. Can't say the same for CZ's striker fired guns. As to striker fired pistol triggers, I'll take my Canik SFX Rival. Its as close to my 1911's as I've found.

Ugh. The CZ100! I had one for a couple of weeks in the 1990s. Just terrible. I didn’t realize, until I’d disassembled it for the first time, that the frame rails were simply molded plastic. They saved money by not including molded-in steel frame rail inserts. There was, however, money to incorporate a steel insert in the mag well, which displayed a dot-matrix pattern of holes that spelled “GUN” in all caps. CZ was literally less concerned with durability than thwarting your efforts to sneak your plastic pistol through an X-Ray machine. Not exactly a high point for CZ. I couldn’t get rid of the thing fast enough. I have been wanting to try a P10 though.

I have multiple handguns in every genre of handguns from percussion cap antique s to 2024 releases, wood, steel, polymer, wheels hammers and strikers. Outside of heavy dao pocket revolvers and the 12lbs+ New York triggers, no "bad" 20th/21st century trigger has ever hindered my shooting ability. Sure a 2lbs, glass rod, 0 take up, gamer 1911 trigger is nice, but thats just a nice luxury, not even close to a need and much less a true requirement, especially in a real life high stress emergency situation. Here it looks like a lot of commenters have only shot a couple of different brands or types of hand guns..ever. It's not the trigger, it's the shooter.

And it began to disassemble itself after 300 rounds. The pins holding the guts to the frame were walking out. Sent it back to CZ and they fixed the pins and the sights but the trigger was still binding. I'd be very hesitant to buy another striker fired CZ.
