CZ Shadow 2 Compact: A Carry Sized Race Gun!!!!

I was interested gun because I wanted to try an all metal compact. After experiencing the trigger by dry firing in the shop I bought it in a second. I got a plate and installed Holosun 509T. It is so easy to be accurate it is like cheating. At the range I shoot and 75 feet the second time out and amazed the range safety officer with the group. I carry it in a Redhill tactical IWB holster with a TLR8A light and laser combo. It is not too heavy to carry. It is as comfortable as my Sig 365XL. I carry the CZ in half cock for a shorter DA trigger pull. The SA trigger pull is surprisingly light but got the feel with some experience. This review is very consistent with my experience. Great gun and great review.

A lot of people don’t seem to read the CZ manual. It says not to use the safety on half cock, that it will cause damage. I tend to go with what a manufacturer states. It didn’t seem like a suggestion, they really don’t want you to do that. It may work but how long will it be before you’re trying to convince customer service to help repair the damage under warranty? Take care, Be safe

I installed the extended shadow 2 safety on mine, which makes it lots easier to actuate, and I use it as a gas pedal for my thumb. The only sketchy thing is decoding to 1/2 cocked before putting into my appendix holster

just use 2 hands, take the hammer between your thumb and index and the gun with your other hand, Idk why all these chimps make all this drama about decocking on a live round lol not a big deal if you use 2 hands and are carefull. you can even take the hammer between your thumb and major and put your index between the hammer and the firing pin for added safety while you ride it down...

Carry mine at 1/2 cocked it’s simple to decock as long as you take your finger off the trigger once the hammer is released the hammer won’t drop past half cocked

If you already have the P07 and now got the S2C, time to switch out the decocker for the safety on the P07.

Safest way to decock the hammer: Place index finger of non shooting hand in between the firing pin and hammer while hammer is in single action mode. Squeeze trigger and hold until hammer rests on index finger of non shooting hand. (You are using the pad of your index finger as a block to keep the hammer from engaging the firing pin). Once the hammer is resting on the pad of the index finger, release the trigger and this will cause the hammer to mechanically go into half cock mode. This is mechanically done and never fails. I feel this is a lot safer than pinching the hammer forward or thumbing the hammer forward as you are using your finger to block the hammer from coming into accidental contact with the firing pin. I love the feel, but I would prefer palm swell grips. Will probably get some lokgrip aluminum grips with the palm swell. Have those on my Tanfoglio, and they make a big difference.

I was going to purchase this for carry but decided on a Staccato P only because I was not comfortable with decocking and a mediocre safety. Otherwise, I think it’s a great pistol.

the double action is heavy, but the break on the single action is really good. reset is a little long imo.

The standard S-2 safety does work… Just de-cock the hammer “problem solved”. I put my Safety from my full size S2 on my compact and it works. Shot over 3k rounds with it No negligent discharges!!!!

It is because here in Czechia, and I am a Colt CZ shareholder, we lack both the capacity to make our superior products for everyone, as well as the drive to play with marketing which still decides about most sales. The latter is mostly due to the jealousy from many regular Czechs. It doesn't pay for Czechs to promote themselves! So only those who know better are picking CZ in the world and they are a minority.

Just curious, at 3:45 you run from your target and keep the muzzle downrange. Seems like you could blow your own should off. Are you doing this because its an indoor range and cannot point the muzzle at the bench or do you have an alternate reason. Legit question, want to understand why that risk was necessary.
