Hi Petra, greetings from Colorado. This is my Mom's favorite cookie! She learned to make them from her Czech grandmother, and she's been making them since she was a child. My uncle and aunt, often in the kitchen with my Mom and grandma called them affectionately "worms" as kids due to the shape you make when you roll them. It's a moniker that's stuck, unfortunately or not. Mom and I were watching your video, and admiring your nut grinder. I use my food processor, which works well, though you have to watch to make sure your nuts don't get oily...your grinder would not have that problem.

I am puzzled -- why are these called "Vanilla" crescents? I didn't see any vanilla in the recipe!
