Czechia 🇨🇿 in Eurovision Song Contest (2007-2024)

Here's a recap of all the songs that competed for Czechia (formerly known as Czech Republic) in Eurovision Song Contest from 2007 to 2024. Please, enjoy!
The Czech Republic, presented as Czechia since 2023, has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 12 times since making its debut in 2007. After receiving nul points in the semi-final of the 2009 contest and due to a lack of interest from the Czech public, Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) decided to withdraw from the contest; the country would not participate again until 2015.
Since its return to the contest in 2015, the Czech Republic has qualified for the final in five of the last nine contests it has entered, with two top ten finishes: Mikolas Josef's sixth place in 2018 and Vesna's tenth place in 2023. Other finalists included Gabriela Gunčíková, who finished 25th in 2016, Lake Malawi, who finished 11th in 2019, and We Are Domi, who finished 22nd in 2022.

Definitely deserved to qualify for the final, maybe it would have been more memorable, if the shouting wasn't dimmed down. But definitely great studio version, and she definitely improved from her ESCZ performance.

I personally despised Aiko when she won the NF but I have to agree with everyone here, she improved drastically since December 2023. Dare I say I even think she deserved to qualify. Revamping the song was also a good choice! She should be proud of herself no matter what place she got

Czechia is one of the most inspiring stories in Eurovision. They got very bad results in their first three years (2007-2009), withdrew from the competition. Returned in 2015, didn't qualify, but showed that "Hope Never Dies" when they got closer to the final. They were right. During the following years, they qualified to most of the finals and even got good results. This year, the didn't qualify, but they again showed us that hope never dies, when Aiko improved significantly and got Czechia very close to the final in such a strong semifinal. I hope that countries like Andorra, Monaco, Slovakia and Montenegro will return after they saw Czechia's significant improvement during the recent years. Hope never dies.

Aiko improved so much from that hideous Czech NF performance. She deserved better. She was dead last in the odds and almost qualified. Props to her. Hopefully we'll see Czechia next year as well! ❤

Czech here. I feel like out of all of our entries 2007 is the most popular one around here and Kabát is one of the most well known Czech bands and have been for decades (certainly the most well known rock band). I couldn't name most of the other songs we've competed with, but Malá Dáma still gets played on partys and dances. A bit ironic given 2007 was also our worst placement.

My qualifiers and non-qualifiers of Czechia in eurovision 🇨🇿 (Since 2004): OBS: I'll leave the automatic qualifiers as automatic qualifiers even if the country hadn't been my choice to win in the previous year or wasn't high for me in the semi-final format from 2004-2007, since as the entry did not face the semi-finals that year, it would be difficult for me to imagine a situation of these entries in the semi-final *Old semi-final format (2004-2007) 2007: Non-qualifier ❌ *New semi-final format (2008-Current) 2008: Non-qualifier ❌ 2009: Non-qualifier ❌ 2015: Non-qualifier ❌ 2016: Qualified ✅ 2017: Non-qualifier ❌ 2018: Non-qualifier ❌ 2019: Qualified ✅ 2020: Non-qualifier ❌ (If 2020 had happened) 2021: Non-qualifier ❌ 2022: Non-qualifier ❌ 2023: Qualified ✅ 2024: Non-qualifier ❌ My opinions about the country in eurovision: Even though it's not a country that I really liked in the contest (i think only the entries from Czechia that i really like was 2016 and 2023), I'm still pretty sad since it's basically already been confirmed that they will probably withdraw from 2025 due to financial difficulties..., Aiko was my last place in my top before the show of 2024, because OMG that national final performance 💀, but after the show on the stage in mälmo "pedestal" grew on me a lot, as she sang well and the staging was very well executed, but it still wasn't enough for me to qualify her, because semi-final 2 was very difficult with only good songs 🥲, but aiko still improved a lot, even though my choice for czechia in this eurovision 2024 was still MYDY, aiko has improved considerably, it's a shame we probably won't see Czechia at the festival for a while...

Ah yes the czechs... never qualified in their first years, came back in 2015 after 2009 and still didn't qualify, qualified for the final for the first time in 2016 but got second last place, didnt qualify again in 2017, then actually got an good result in 2018 and 2019, and then didnt qualify in 2021, in 2022 the czech qualified with a song that people thought it will get 5th place, but sadly got 21st, in 2023 actually got 10th place, and finally in 2024, with an way better song last years, they still didnt qualify. The czechs are one of the most robbed contestans in ESC history.
