Wow, the Arctic Monkeys completely new burst of fame this last year has really impacted the views on this video. There is a comment made one year before now stating that this song didn't even have 100,000 views. Since then, it's gone up to about 1,000,000! That's 10 times more views than a year ago, and this was uploaded in 2007!

it's so funny how it took me almost five years to get behind the meaning of the title. first i thought they were talking about a red light district with guards or some installation securing the doors so not everyone could enter but then, when i was sitting in a taxi in england, i discovered this little sticker having this text on it and the real origin revealed itself to me

Chrystal Heart In the north of England (not sure about the rest) 'jumping' a taxi just means not paying the fare at the end of the journey. If you get in a black cab (traditional looking UK taxi) they have this red light in the back where the passengers are which indicates that the doors are locked. So, if you were planning on jumping the cab before paying (as in the song), you can't because the cab driver will only unlock them upon payment. It's the story of a drunken ride home.

@astone519 Lucky!! Round where I live, they have one good alternative rock station that goes from Nirvana to Green Day to Linkin Park then back again, and two good classic rock stations. I don't have XM I just listen to normal FM radio. Maybe I should try to discover some more stations in the area.... Sadly I don't live in Seattle, Texas, or NC :(
