I love seeing that other people use this method now days, being one of the instructors in training at the only public lesson, show and rescue barn using only +R methods it makes me so happy to see other people have began paying more attention to their horses feelings rather then just doing whatever they have to to get the horse ready for whatever show despite the horses feelings.

Love seeing bigger trainers using positive reinforcement!

I'm so happy with your calm demeanor while training. It's pretty awesome! I feel for the horses where the trainer is rough with their whip and the jerking of the halter. No gentleness at all; reminds me of the old cowboy ways and makes me cringe.

Wow, I love seeing this! I do +R clicker training with my thoroughbred, and I was recently wondering if it's acceptable/safe to use when training a wild mustang. It's my dream to adopt and train a mustang one day. I'm excited to see more of your work with Maisie. :-)

My parents don't trust me with our mustang when he hasn't been out in a few days. But he is an angel for me. But not for others.

Thank you for this video. I have a mustang that is extremely sensitive on the right side and is almost exactly like mazie. I have had trouble getting him to accept touch and hadn't really thought of using +R until recently. This really helped me to decide that this is what I am going to do with him. Thank you for the reassurance. Like I said, the same things happening with Mazie are happening with him.

Great video! Why are horses more guarded on one side than the other?
@janagannaway92234 жыл бұрын
Love Juliet It’s kinda like people where we are either right side dominant or left side dominant. If you are prey, you don’t want them on your “weak side” where it takes more effort to protect yourself.

Hi! Thank you for your video! But I still can't understand why you don't like training horses with treats. Or I missed something? (If so, I'm sorry, I'm from Russia and it's still hard for me to understand English talks sometimes😁)
@CZMustangs4 жыл бұрын
Tyler Steis I do enjoy training with treats, I just don’t normally use it with wild horses in their beginning phases of gentling and training.

Any issues with her sight possibly in her left eye? Apps can be prone to several eye conditions. Just wondering if she’s seeing things differently out of that eye. Or just could be she prefers the right.
@CZMustangs4 жыл бұрын
Guitarboy E So far in my time with her, her sight seems totally fine and normal! A lot of mustangs when they start their initial gentling and training are one sided :-)

I am curious, with all the mustang makeover videos I’ve been watching, I’ve never seen one mustang try to bite anyone. Do they ever do that?
@rmcquade50934 жыл бұрын
Anne Ahrens. Some do, horses have a fight or flight response. Mustangs are usually more on the flight side. SamVanfleet had a mustang who charged her a couple of times.

R McQuade Thank you. With patience, they seem to make some of the best horses. I love them!
@heistandhorses8762 жыл бұрын
I am sure a few do but Mustangs tend to be more flighty. I am working with my first one right now and have never had any fight responses and most of the people that I know with Mustangs generally just get a flight response
