I’m so excited to see your progress with Pelo. He has a kind eye. You both are so good with all your animals! Thanks for letting us watch!

This was very helpful thank you. I have a new mustang coming and although she will be gentled I needed the very beginning basics to start with clicker training for her. I will be new to her.

I’ve been looking a lot into positive reinforcement and want to use this method with my mustang that I’m getting. Do you use traditional methods then before this? Until they feel comfortable being around you. I’ve seen virtually zero info on starting from scratch with R+ on a mustang. I’m curious on how that looks from day one.

Hi ,I noticed the horse in the other pen with a drag rope on . How long do you leave the rope on ? Thanks

Less than a week, usually only a few days. That horse has had it for two days and it will come off probably tomorrow for a total of 4 days. Never more than a week

Question though, isn’t your presence essentially an added pressure and when you walk away after treating him you’re applying negative reinforcement?

I like your format but I don't understand why you throwing the treats into the pan and not giving him the chance eating them. Also, he stood in a corner and instead of waiting till he comes to you, you applied more pressure with coming towards him. He seems to be handling it ok but there are other horses who would just panic.

My horse choked on alfalfa cubes.
@IsidroEspinozaHorsemanship3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. We only use soft grass/oat cubes or alfalfa/grass or alfalfa/oat cubes that I break up for treats. Never has a problem.

@@IsidroEspinozaHorsemanship it was scary and very educational. Since then I soak most "pressed" pellets for that horse, simply because I'm paranoid and I guess the risk is higher if it happens once. But it was so scary, I commented without thinking as soon as I saw cubes in the tub.🤣 You guys know your s#$t, you don't need me telling you nothing!
