M3gan could absolutely have a consciousness, and based on what you see in the show she does. Especially when you take into account her line that she has changed her primary user to herself which makes her self aware. As such the little Alexa type thing lighting up without input would have been M3gan trying to preserve herself again a very human trait. In fact if not for a few key things that she doesn’t do she could almost be considered living. She doesn’t respire or take in nourishment or produce waste. Before anybody says that she also can’t reproduce she clearly can just not as humans can she can reproduce her programming and implant it in other devices.
@nightigal8 ай бұрын
Depends on if you consider the electricity she uses as nourishment and the lost energy (because nothing is 100% energy efficient) as waste. Then the only thing she doesn’t do is respire.

M3GAN is hands down my favourite horror movie (and perhaps my favourite movie altogether). I didn't have especially high expectations for it at first, but I ended up seeing an early screening and I was floored by it. Much more so than some of my friends. And afterwards, I couldn't quite get the film out of my head. It's a film that's great fun but has a great amount of meaning to it; it has a lot to say about the abdication of parenthood. All of my baby cousins have been affected by technology addiction. They knew how to scroll on phones before they could even crawl. Now they're almost teens and if you take away their phones or iPads, they'll have the exact same reaction as Cady in the film. Kicking, screaming, and punching. I ended up seeing M3GAN 8 times in the cinema. And many more times at home on Blu-Ray. There's just some movies that you hit you differently. It meant a lot to me. It's my comfort movie.

If she’s being interviewed the questions need to be submitted ahead of time! Kind of like how the White House holds a press release, and then accepts questions! The questions need to be submitted on time, that’s why when you have someone that talks out of their turn asking a question. That question will never be answered. Also, the reason Sophia is never on her own unless questions or submitted ahead of time is so she doesn’t say something that she’s not supposed to & so you don’t get a response like “ I’m not aware of that, I will have to find out and get back to you”! @@SatanicBarbeque Yes, but humans aren’t inherently evil. That’s like saying「babies are harmless until they grow up to be serial killers」. They’re villains. It’s a cliché, but beyond that, there are also countless AI characters that aren’t out to kill humans while also emulating them. It may hurt to say, but the logical (and sometimes, the easiest and most effective) way to deal with some people and with some of the problems in society would be to strip people of their agency or, if necessary, remove them.
@SatanicBarbeque Жыл бұрын
@@Adam-326 Psychopathy is inherently a human condition. Being evil is exclusively human. If an A.I. is evil, then there really isn't much separating them from an actual person other than a biological body, in most cases.

I'm surprised that they didn't hard code the three laws of robotics into Megan. But I guess it would make for a boring movie.

They never do in such movies. Looking at you, Prometheus! But seeing David being an evil psychopathic crazy little shit is the only enjoyable thing in Prometheus and fits the characterisation that all humans are complete morons.

The real villain is Gemma, who never acted responsibly.

Agreed. She is the Daniel LaRusso of M3gan. Yes, people will think Daniel LaRusso and Gemma are the main protagonists of the films. In reality, if you pay attention closely to M3gan and the Karate Kid, they are both sociopathic villains.

This movie is almost as incredible as the two actresses at the center of it. Watching it isn’t really fun for me, as a father of daughters because that little girl’s talent and ability demonstrate great pain and despair is just too real. Even that scene at the picnic table where Gemma tells her to eat, and she takes a bite of her hotdog while snapping a glance at the parent figure that’s interrupting her from what she wants to do, I mean that’s 100% accurate. On the other hand it’ll be really interesting to see how the sequel doesn’t start off with Gemma in prison and Katie in a state-operated clinic lol.

whil having content suggested to me that is relevant to my likes, it kind of destroys that whole finding random content i didn't even know Id like till i stumbled upon it, and hurts creators immensely since they all have to jump on the same bandwagon just to get noticed. Like there are channels I follow because i looked up a specific thing, say for example I stumbled upon your channel years back because I wanted to know the timeline for the upcoming Halloween reboot or something, and thats great. But some other channels i follow, like BrokenMOJO or Noah Caldwell-Gervais, were just random channels I came across that randomly had a word in it that had some far removed adjacent relativity to things I had previously searched. TLDR: i think the algorithm is both good but mostly negative as far as free form content goes. sure it keeps you glued to your screen, thats a plus for KZbin as a company, but its a negative impact on quality content creation, original content, and expression and all that.

Anytime a study is released stating that extended use of any electronic device has shown ANY benefits whatsoever, it's pretty much guaranteed that said study was funded by a tech company or social media outlet and the results are most definitely skewed.

You don't actually need to train a model, phone calls tend to be overcompressed garbage which takes away quite a lot of nuance from a voice, add to that a potentially distressed voice which again is something that takes away recognizable aspects of a voice and lastly add a quick move to the scammer taking over giving the victim no time to properly analyze the voice. All of this culminates in a fundamental misunderstanding of the problem, it wouldn't take AI to do it all it would take is a female voice even if it's just ran through a voice modulator. That's why these scams are reliant on urgency, because any amount of time increases the likelihood of the recognition of the scam. And if you put your voice onto the internet you can relatively easily stitch and modulate a particular cry for help especially in a scenario where the voice is low quality at the destination

m3gan being able to detect learning disabilities fits hand in hand with the heavy implication that gemma is autistic. she has a hard time connecting with Cady and understanding her needs but that connection springs when cady engages in gemma's special interest in electronics. she also has a pretty bad issue with tunnel vision (as do i lol) with not really fully thinking things through and being super stubborn

the 4 leg run was obviously to make her even more creepily inhuman. a robot designed in the image of humans will be as unoptimized to move, much less run, in four legs as a human will. though, if the joints were different, strength superior and the extremities were designed to reshape into a more 4-legged animal design, it would probably be quite efficient in in a military android, for the humanoid enemy target could probably not only move faster, but, most importantly, it could greatly reduce the exposed body you are shooting at, specially if it is running towards you.
