That was such a horrifying and real scene. You could tell the killer was improvising, and while a tablesaw is definitely dangerous, it's not normally fatal unless you have proper setup. I fully expected her to end up maimed, but the dice were not in her favor and that was TRAUMATIZING.

You need a good balance! A lot of those artsy flicks are very shallow, cheap imitations of the artsy classics, whilst a lot of modern attempts "fun" ones are just sadistic, mean spirited gore-fests. This film hits the sweet spot. Personally I'm waiting for a resurgence in giallo inspired flicks!

Carver was the 1st governor but died early on and was succeeded by William Bradford (my 12th great-grandfather) who was re-elected 30 times and whose diary entry about a fight almost happening between the Puritans and Indigenous somehow turned into the "story" of Thanksgiving (it wasn't anything like what we learned growing up). So yeah, Roth can make a film without a lot of historical accuracy because our entire concept of Thanksgiving is based on nonsense. Fun film though - fine holiday fun.

"Plymouth, Massachusetts not Michigan" - As a Brit, I was kinda expecting a reference to Plymouth, England. Had the absolute joy of seeing this in theaters last year. By far one of the best movie experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I genuinely feel bad for the people who didn’t get to experience this the way my mother and I did!

I didn't, it was the year before I started watching horror movies in theaters, since then I have now seen Lisa Frankenstein, Abigail, Longlegs, Cuckoo, Alien: Romulus, Never Let Go, Terrifier 3, and Smile 2 with Abigail, Alien: Romulus, and Smile 2 being the best experiences

I like the scares of this movie, they don’t kick in until the first hit by the killer, the shot of Carver in Yulia’s room as she walks by not even noticing him is by far my favorite shot in the movie

To be fair, some people do hit menopause late. It’s possible for someone to still be fertile at 60, though it would almost certainly be a higher-risk pregnancy.
