This video is great. The music makes watching this even more emotional. It's also interesting to see the war from Hibiki's perspective as she sees her sisters fall to the enemy. A salute to Zuikaku who died as a decoy of Cape Engano during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and to all of the Japanese ships sunk during WW2. Why did Zuikaku have to be sacrificed in a hopeless decoy when she could've been held in reserve to act as a floating AA platform?

Because the brass for Japan were shit back then. Literally, the war would have gone in a different route if they had 1+ intelligence added to them.

@@swe759 still would have lost tho.. we just outdid them in almost every way

@@Cessna152ful Debatable. The naval Japanese had quite a few advantages over the Americans, some of which might turned the war for them. But still, it was largely thanks to Japanese incompetence that led to disastrous results (the decrypted radio one being the most prominent for me), when the results could have been better if they used their brains better
If I can recongize this stuff correctly, 1) Pearl Harbor buildup (KidoButai traveling North Pacific) 2) Pearl Harbor 3) Phillipines invasion 4) Battle of the Java Sea (Sendai and DD complement on torpedo run) 4) Ikazuchi rescuing Allied survivors (extended hand) of HMS Encounter and HMS Exeter. 5) Midway obviously, RIP CarDiv 1 & 2 (Hiryuu being the last one to die after launching her strike), scuttled by escorts. 6) Following day I-168 sinks Yorktown, Mikuma and Mogami attacked by aircraft with the Mikuma sunk. 7) Battle of Cape Esperance, CruDiv6 ambushed, loss of majority of cruisers and Fubuki. 8) 1st Battle of Guadalcanal. IJN fleet crossed USN T. Loss of Hiei and Akatsuki as searchlights drew American fire. Yuudachi earns her name. Hiei heavily damaged during night action and air attacked the following day, scuttled. 9) 2nd Battle of Guadalcanal, Kirishima and DD Ayanami lost to USN battleships North Dakota and Washington. 10) Ikazuchi sunk by USS Harder April 13, 1944, May 14th, same year, Inazuma sunk by torpedoes from USS Bonefish, Hibiki rescues survivors. 11) Yamashiro/Fusou lost in Surigao Straight (in a fucking huge curbstomp of a battle), DD Shigure shown earlier being comforted by BB, one of the few survivors. 12) Battle of Cape Engano, last of IJN's carrier forces used as bait to draw Halsey away from landing forces. Zuikaku and other carriers fight to the last (she had run out of planes) referenced in her lines in game. (Not pictured, Musashi sunked at Sibuyan sea, along with multiple cruisers/destroyers lost to Taffy 3 off Samar). 13) Shimakaze sunk at Ormoc Bay by aircraft. 14) Urakaze and Kongou torpedoed and sunk. 15) Yamato's final mission, Yukikaze being one of the few survivors. 16) Haruna, Hyuga and others sunk at their moorings during Air Raids on Kure. 17) Hosho survived the war and used as transport. 18) Kitakami, used as repair tender for repatriation transports. 19) Nagato used in Bikini Atoll tests, survives Able, lost after Baker.

autogun290 Looks pretty spot on. One mistake though, #14 isn't Urakaze, it's Kumano. Last survivor of the four Mogami sisters and went out fighting against probably the most horrible overkill for a ship her size; 5 torpedoes and four bombs.
