Since the Pentagon recognized the Flying Tigers as regular U.S. military forces, the start of the war between Japan and the U.S. goes back five months from the attack on Pearl Harbor to July 1941, the day the Flying Tigers attacked Japanese forces. It was China and the U.S. who launched the first attack on Japan in order to drag Japan into the war.
That war was really our war. We should have fought it ourselves. But we put everything on that Japan's shoulders and that plunged her into almost total destruction. I'm SORRY. ー Bung Tomo (Minister of Information Indonesia) The reason that Indonesia was able to win its independence from Netherland is that the same coloured Japanese had fought that much and that gave us confidence that we could do the same. ー Sukarno ,President of Indonesia. A country motivated by high ideals and lofty objectives had sacrificed its lives and all its assets. That country is a Far East island nation of Japan. ー U Nu,Foreign minister of Burma. When the Japanese army marched into the malay peninsula, we all let out a whoop of joy. And when we saw the retreating the British army, I shivered as if I had never experience before. The japanese removed all the western forces that had been colonizing Asia for such a long time.We had almost given up our hope but the japanese gave us the sensation & confidence. ーUngku Abdul Aziz, vice chancellor of the University of Malaysia. Why does Japan have to make an apology? In that war, the Japanese got rid of the British, didn't they? We should not forget we welcomed the Japanese army with such a joy. Without the Japanese, there would have been no independence of South East Asia. If we try to deny the precious sacrifices that the Japanese made, it is like looking only at the back mirror. ーGhazalie Shafie, Foreign Minister of Malaysia. The West has vested interests in recording Japan as the invading country so that they can justify their invasion of Asia. Crime against peace & crime against humanity are ex post fact laws, so that in the context of International Law, there is no basis for accusing Japan of crime. ーRadhabinod pal(UN's International Law Commission) The Japanese did nothing to us that they have to apologize for. This is the reason that we do not attend the San Fransisco Peace Conference and refuse to sign on its Peace Treaty. ーJawhar Lal Nehru (the first prime minister of independent India) What Japan has carried through bravely was to completely put an end to the colonial occupation by the west. ーOwen Lattimore, an advisor to Chinag Kai shek What Japan really fought for? "Once the undefeated Japanese army was left with nothing but their spirits, they were defeated in the end. However, they left something behind, which is the fact that they removed all the westerners from east ASIA." ーLord Mountbatten (first earl Mountbatten of Burma) Asia gained independence because of Japan. Japan, who acted as our mother, bore babies of asian countries but destructed her maternal body. Who made us talk equally with the west today? It is because of the mother Japan, who almost killed herself to give the birth. We should never forget December 8. ーSeni Pramoj, Prime Minister of Thailand.

Ahh another Yet Favorite and Nostalgic, Game Music Video , Kantai Collection:Kancolle Where I First Started Getting Fond of World War 2 Warships and Warship Girls Waifus , this Song's Title is Genzai no Requiem And the Artist is Is Non Other Than the Talented KOTOKO....
Watching this made me think about how things went during the war and all those lives lost. We say that Imperial Japan and its allies lost the war but my own thinking is that Britian and its own allies lost as well. Whilst some of my own generation who have studied history might be happy that Britain won I cannot bring myself to be happy about any of it. Yes I am British, yes I play KanColle, no I do not understand Japanese and no I will not claim to know exactly the feelings that the Japanese people had or indeed has about losing family members no matter the generation. It might have been 77 years since the end of the Second World War and while I struggle to keep my tears in I still hope that Britian and its Empire of old can be forgiven for it's role even though I believe it does not deserve it for what it did to Japan and her people no matter how small or large it's contribution.
