Just raw firepower with the Finns using the Russian made D-30 artillery howtizer utlizing a 122mm projectile with two part ammunition.
The 122-mm howitzer D-30 (GRAU index 2A18) is a Soviet howitzer that first entered service in 1960. It is a robust piece that focuses on the essential features of a towed field gun suitable for all conditions. The D-30 has a maximum range of 15.4 kilometers, or over 21 km using rocket-assisted projectile ammunition.
With its striking three-leg mounting, the D-30 can be rapidly traversed through 360 degrees. Although no longer manufactured in the nations of the former Soviet Union, the D-30 is still manufactured internationally and is in service in more than 60 countries' armed forces.
The barrel assembly of the 2A18 gun is used by the 2S1 self-propelled howitzer. There are also Egyptian, Chinese, Serbian and Syrian self-propelled variants and conversions. The Syrian conversion utilizes the hull of a T-34 tank.
Hope you enjoy!!

This thing is surprisingly accurate, even for modern day standards. One of the reasons is most likely the fact that it basically makes 0 movements due to recoil.

Yes, that is so the autoloader would function more reliably. Also, the 2S1 cases are steel, while the D-30 cases are brass. However, the D-30 can also use the 2S1 cases.

As a recently retired US Army Field Artilleryman, it was only really safe in a COIN firebase environment. We've been toying with truck mounted 105 (Hawkeye) for a decade. Our problem is we want to be able to deploy and do cool things like air assault a 105 platoon for DS or do an air assault raid with M777s, but tbh, I see that as a dying, if not completely dead, art, given Excalibur, GMLRS, ATACMS, the ERC-A howitzer, and all the new developments we're going to see in the next decade. We might keep the towed 105s as a hedge, especially if we can develop a rapid displacement kit for it, like a design I can't seem to pull up that the gun was semi-mounted, and could be drawn up into the body of the truck for fast movement, but could also be towed for quick displacement. Except have some sort of TommyLift contraption on the back to quickly pick up the howitzer and go.

I’m surprised to see that the majority of Finnish artillery is still 122mm, hopefully that changes now that they’re in NATO. I wonder if it’d be better to still keep 122mm production as an option to help Allies that still use it or Ukraine. On the other hand they are on the front line of nato now, so striving for logistical compatibility would be best.

There are a number of advantages to this gun, particularly how easily and quickly it can be deployed and moved, but there are a fair number of advantages that come directly from the caliber. The lighter caliber can be rapidfired very quickly, has more rounds per load of ammunition, does get to much better replicability for followup shots, sustains prolonged fire better, is better at saturation amd response missions, and is overall a more nimble system. There is a reason why the D30 remains a core piece of hardware in numerous world tier militaries.

They may not be doing drone training in this particular video. Here the focus is just firing the gun. But that doesn't mean the Finnish Army doesn't do drone training. But you're right. Drones, especially loitering and FPV drones, have changed the dynamic of warfare. Any modern military that doesn't adapt and change it's methods, doctrine, and tactics will suffer. Any person or thing can be a target at any time at any place. This changes everything. Not everything can be protected 100% of the time.
