Let's face it, Rich, every guitar you try sounds great because it's you playing it!

I love the economy of motion in Rich's hands. His left hand seems to float back and forth above the fretboard while the fingers hardly move individually.

I can relate to your playing. I too play softly, using my nails to pluck the strings, and I've found some jazz boxes seem to need to be played harder to get a good tone. Hearing and seeing you play gives me more reassurance that I'll get similar results than I get with other players. I set up my own guitars and most people can't believe how low an action you can get if you play softly. It looks like you also prefer a low action, because your left hand barely seems to touch the strings. I had ordered an Eastman 810, with a floating pickup and tobacco finish, but the dealer cocked up my order, and sent the wrong guitar. By the time it was all resolved they'd stopped making the exact model and the price had shot up. This sounds like it might be a good candidate for me.

I’ve had mine e for a few years now, it’s a great box for the money. Build quality is fantastic although the pots are already getting scratchy even after constant cleaning….cant complain tho, not for 600 with HSC. Great review Rich!

I'm glad they talked a little and compared this to the Eastman guitar. I'm trying to decide whether to get this or an Eastman 503. can't decide....

I really like Koreian guitars. Yes, like the Gibson Johnny Smith George Benson used.

Really Great Video. I have an LH EXL-1 from 2018. I guess my biggest questions are around the differences and is it worth it for the changes. It sounds beautiful. I wish I could play like you Rich. Such an economy of movement you have on that fretboard.

I had the same guitar and returned it. Much happier with my Epi Broadway although it’s a different animal altogether(it has mounted pups)..

Nice looking and sounding guitar…what’s the price range? And is there comparable sounding guitar for less money? With a floater?

$1899? So I am guessing that's not the DAngelico Premier EXL1? Cause here in UK the retail price is around £700
@Raven-Creations2 ай бұрын
You're right, it's a bit weird for the "premier" to be a much cheaper model. The premier has a one-piece neck, less elaborate binding, and probably other cost-saving differences. You can pre-order for around £1600, or Thomann have it for pre-order at £1355 delivered. You might be able to get a dedicated guitar shop to set it up for you, but my experience with Thomann is they don't set up their guitars, so unless you're confident setting up a guitar, you probably need to get a guitar tech to set it up how you like it.
