Not trying to hate on the D-Backs, because they've been on an incredible run, but it's taken this hot streak, and a brutally bruised and injured slumping Dodgers for them to even come within 5 games of the division lead. Hard to see them overtaking the Dodgers. Best to just settle for a playoff spot, and try to mirror what they did last postseason.

Back in the day center field home run fences were usually 420 ft or further. Today i think the longest home run fence or padded wall is 417 ft. I remember back around 1980 walking around old huge, dual purpose baseball/football Cleveland Municipal Stadium during a double header . I walked to where the home run fences were. The fences were padded and brought in closer . I also remember the old home run center field cement wall behind the new closer wall fences which had the old faded paint still on it and it was something like 480 ft center field !

Vogt has been incredible all year. Minus this past series kinda punting the last 2 games vs Baltimore. But his high leverage bullpen usage has not been good. Why he didn’t pull smith makes no sense. And why he thought Barlow was a good reliever for a high leverage spot also makes no sense. Oh well. Let’s hope lively gives us a much needed 6-7 innings tomorrow.

How is no one mentioning the 10+ "Strike" calls that were 6" or more off the plate? It went both ways, but I'm just blown away that no one was ejected arguing some of those calls. Credit both teams for having discipline in that regard.

This is my first season of watching these Guardians recaps (listening to radio cuz of cable streaming prices$$$) but this was so cool reading the appreciation for how good a game this was vs the D-Backs. Just gonna point out we were cheated out of more great baseball because of 'ghost runner' rule for xtra innings (by the way Guardians fans ... as great as Clase has been this year he should not be the first choice to pitch with a runner already on 2B. He can't hold runners on, and does not field his position well ). But, I don't like the 'ghot runner' rule (and not because Guardians lost 🙃); and also don't like pitch clock. Actually, the game could have been appropriately sped up by just limiting the number of trips to the mound (per pitcher) to a specific number including the catcher. Hitters (the entire team) are allowed 3 timeouts per game while batting. Limiting the number of pickoff attempts was a great change. Anyways, I did not intend to do that when I first started complimenting Arizona fans for complimenting the Guardians too. Great game Go Guardians Good luck D-Backs (especially after this series😉) . Let's get both these teams healthy! Maybe see each other again in THE Series in late October!
