D/C- My Clear Mental Picture is to read this horse accurately so I know what to do, and the using perfect timing to assess when this horse is ready to ride.
Follow along through my process and see if you can read the messages the horse is giving me through the eye, attitude, posture, muscle tone and body alignment.

My mare had that same attitude problem when she came back into work after I had to take her out of work because of the heat. We live in AZ where temperature highs can get as high as 120.

Could you do a video on developing a spring 'General' fitness or shaping/conditioning program for horses that have been "off" for the winter? Also some of the things you do for your personal fitness?

What do you do if you work a horse on the ground, feel he is ready to ride, get on and realize he is not ready and is acting up. Do you get back off and do more groundwork or do you work it out in the saddle ?
@cappelhorsetrainingandshoeing
@cappelhorsetrainingandshoeing Жыл бұрын
That is a great question and it does happen quite often when a horse learns where the sweet spot is and knows how to look like he is ready but really isn’t . This is why I challenge a horse on the ground to put more effort into going forward and stopping and turning . This will usually bring up the hidden freshness If your already on and you feel the excess energy you have to make some judgment calls that might be right or might not be . By this I mean you need to see if you can direct the energy while still being mounted until it becomes soft and willing . Or if you think you are in trouble by staying on ,then get off if you can and put them to work until he is ready and willing to let you ride . Or the third option is to ride the storm until it passes or dust your self off and catch the horse and put that sucker to work so that he is sure enough ready to be ridden and get back on and act like nothing happened and treat him as good as gold when he rides off quiet and respectful Then you can address your sore body and be better at reading your horse the next time!!

Would a horse tolerate a backstage at a walk or trot but then begin bucking because of the backsense when asked to lope
