I love playing with new players, and sometimes even kids, they always surprise you. My friend is DMing for his children and one is playing a druid who befriends a Kobald, he just stays shape shifted into a lizard and tells the Kobald what he thinks it should do. But when a fight breaks out or someone threatens the Kobald he shape shifted into his half-orc and fights. Like...so unique and cool.

Wyll was accidentally introduced as a Tiefling when he is technically a devil. For the purposes of the game we were using Tieflings' stats. An edit was made.

He's definitely not a "fiend" (which would be an Outsider in D&D terms, a being from the Lower Planes) after the curse, at least I don't remember his stats radically changing in-game.

@@rosenrot234 Astarions whole thing is he wants to feel safe and free, and so he thinks that by having more power (aka becoming ascendant) he will “be safe and free” finally. Only it doesn’t really work like that, and even when he becomes ascendant he still doesn’t truly feel safe or free, he will always still be trying to twist others to doing what he wants, trying to gain more powers, more followers, etc. so that he can feel “safe and free”. Also all of his worse traits become amplified as ascendant, so instead of healing his trauma, he basically becomes the new Cazador (just as Cazador became like his master). If you romance Astarion he gets to finally feel at least part of what he truly wants (safe), even if he cannot have freedom (cannot walk in the sun). However he does come to terms with living in the dark again, and he seems to enjoy the freedom that darkness can bring (to not have all your actions seen), and he also seems to enjoy living in the Underdark leading all the spawn (especially if he is with his partner). Also according to D&D lore, vampirism can be “cured” using a scroll of true resurrection as long as they haven’t been a vampire for more than (I think it was) 100 years. However Astarion had been a vampire for over 200, so there is no cure for his vampirism (but the newer vampires - like the Gur children - could be “cured” if they could get a true res scroll for each of them).

@@rosenrot234 why not? Astarion keeps talking with great negativity towards vampires. He hates the blood hunger, losing self control and monstrous nature. However given he cannot be cured under the circumstance, being a vampire ascendant allows him to live like a mortal, almost “alive”, while having all the vampire power. It’s kind of like the evil way of curing his vampirism. Actually I think it’s the point of his story, that he’s still able to choose to remain a vampire spawn although ascending could kind of cure him. In fact it’s the same for Cazador too. If you investigate further you will find even Cazador doesn’t want to be a vampire. Escaping the eternal curse is often the theme of vampire stories.

Thanks so much for hosting this and uploading it! This cast is so lovely and get along so well. Even though Theo is on the quiet side, he carried the team where it counted in true Wyll fashion. Neil is charming as ever and Sam and Dev come in with amazing ideas. They all gel so well together comedically and I sincerely hope there is another all cast DnD session like the high-rollers one in the near future! DM was fantastic too, allowed them to have their ideas and ran with what they wanted while still wrangling them in (just like Mark from highrollers). It was a perfect balance with a great story and a very touching ending!

Neil can only be described as an absolute darling. Samantha seems to just have way to much fun playing her character. Karlach and Astarionare just sisters of unhinged trouble. Devora is just way to cutely unknowing but giving her all. And Theo is quiet but everything he says and does has so much more impact. God I love the BG3 cast xD

Watching this was an absolute joy that I definitely needed and it's amazing to see that they're all such great friends whilst playing, even if some are less experienced than others, and that ending made me a little teary eyed like Astarion. Neil is such a fantastic actor, especially at the end, and Dev, Theo and Sam were also amazing in their RP and interactions :)
