Remember dnd rule; 1 round = 6 seconds. In a span of 6 seconds you wiped the entire room full of cambion clean.

Why are you running into almost melee range to fire arrows? Does it count for the automatic crit if the target is being held by hold monster? I ask because I thought it was only melee weapon attacks that would auto crit on held targets. Insane fight XD

The reason I'm getting so close with my bow is because the chest piece I'm wearing, Bhaalist Armor, puts an Aura of Murder on enemies within 3m, which causes them to take 2x piercing damage unless they're immune. You don't want to get too close or you'll get disadvantage on your attack roll with the bow, but there's a sweet spot where you can stand. and Hold Monster/Person gives guaranteed crits on all attacks against the target regardless if melee or ranged! @ at 0:32 , favorable beginnings as well as your persuasion proficiency and expertise are a +5 bonus, which if I’m not mistaken cap out at +4

Ahh okay, I did do custom mode with HM rules to test different strategies and do some achievement hunting (I got 100% achievs now!), I must have clicked the proficiency thing by accident if that's the case

My plan B if Hold Monster didn't work was to use the Dark Urge cloak to kill the extra enemies one at a time, using the cloak's invis to stay out of direct combat, until I was 1v1 with Raphael, then go from there

You can also use the amulet drop from Mallus Thorm that paralyses on crit, along with Luck of the Far Realms to guarantee an opening crit.
