I am just super-impressed! I tried a project much less detailed than this about 2 years ago and it was a tremendous undertaking. I don't think people know how much time and effort really go into planning and preparing for this, not just making it. Prepping the filming, filming, editing, It's all amazing and time-consuming. Please don't burn out!

Hey I have built your tiles and walls and temple system. All of which turned out incredibly due to your videos. Any chance we could see you create a ship in the future. Thanks Matt

Ship is on the list though some way distant :)

quick easy and cheap way of "painting" metallic colours on scenery I use is Metalic Sharpies... Absolute godsend! Covers in a single coat, and after a few washes/drybrush/weathering/edge highlighting it looks great, even used it on some minis to speed up the painting process. The Bronze one is my favourite, but the gold pen has a great tone too.

Yeah I've seen that technique before :) haven't tried it yet though...

An excellent addition to your modular terrain. Like the additional steps that can be used as a separate platform. Your attention to detail is admirable; for example your treatment of the bottom of the crenelations.

Thanks Echo! I'm always aiming to include as much detail as I can without reducing how modular the piece is. It's a... Fine balance!

Glad you like it :) in the newer videos I use something a bit more chill, though I might bring it back occasionally!

Had an idea for another option of this you might like. What if you made the front and back arches the same size, and left the middle two as only thin pieces that went along the outside edge only. Then you could drop in a portcullis, or an insert with the smaller arches that you can slide in and out to get the look of what you have in this video. You could also add in larger doors, a drawbridge, larger alcove with a statue, etc. You may have to make the tops separate so you can make the are for where the portcullis goes when lifted seem believable.

Interesting idea :) probably won't be revisiting this design for a while myself though, got so much to work on!

I really enjoyed the inspiration and techniques. Some constructive criticism on the editing. I would prefer the background music to be a lower volume. Love your channel.

Not sure if you’ve found this out yet but you can widen score marks made in XPS with a heat gun/hair dryer as it shrinks

True, though I find that harder to control and not accidentally go too far :)

Very good build. I'm a big fan of the modular system you are developing here. Do you find it inconvenient to use the skewers when reusing the piece with different walls over time?
@RPArchiveOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, not really. It's worth taking a bit of pride and care with the finished piece and not just jamming them in place roughly every time, but other than that it's been working smoothly for me since I started using the system for personal use about a year ago :) Thanks for the support too, I always appreciate it. If you like the modular stuff, I've got another new modular system up early on patreon now, figured I'd mention it in case you were interested. Let me know how you get on with your builds :)

If were was any wall accessory that wanted to use magnets, it's this one. The cocktail sticks seem awkward on such a large piece.
@RPArchiveOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Weirdly, this is one that I find 'just works', though I have since entirely gone magnetic (upgrade videos on patreon, if you haven't seen), and I don't miss the holes in my walls. It works as a cheap option, but I much prefer magnetic :)

One important thing to keep in mind when testing the dry brush on your hand is that certain acryllic paints can have toxic ingredients in them, such as Cadmnium for Cadmium Red or Cadmium White. Be sure to check your paints before you do this!
