D/D/D Abyss King Gilgamesh: "what I don’t understand is this..."

So after some testing with this card in a Pure DDD deck, I can tell you that softlocking is outdated now. We have even more consistency than ever before with this card. Let me explain what this card brings to the table. The Armageddons are so easy to summon now. - You can actually play through negates on your opening turn. By the way, we're a go second deck now that OTKs consistently. - D/D/D Kaiser now has a consistent means of using his tri-attack effect to enable OTKs. Also, he cold waves on Pend Summon lol why even live - You can grind game to an extent due to needing less resources. If your board gets wiped (including Gilgamesh), just slap an Armageddon on it and set up for another Link play next turn lmao. - Forbidden Contract with the Swamp King allows for some very greedy extensions. - And most importantly, the deck is easier to play due to not needing to know which cards you need for your 3/4/5 card combos. It's more linear and streamlined while at the same time, offering multiple ways to out your opponent because Kali Yuga, Oblivion Caesar Ragnarok, High King Alexander (for 6k raw swings), and again. ALL 3 Armageddons are easily summonable. In 15 games, I've yet to brick or lose against various decks. A few of which were meta (Trickstar being the most notable). I'll post my list as a reply to this comment but, YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. I was denouncing this card when I first saw it by saying 'Woo it offers Pendulum plays and possible extensions using Thomas and Ragnarok in scale but it locks you out of Crystal Wing so, not what we needed. Might allow for a saccy Kaiser OTK build for memes but, that's it'. And then I tested the Pure deck concept and wow I was blown away. TL;DR CrystalSieg outdated. Hail Kaiser! Pure DDD more consistent and enables some insane OTK and boards.

TheflamingWol f Siegfried, Executive Caesar, and White-ish Arma is actually a really strong board. Especially with hand traps. This allows you to make boards that are less powerful but more easily recovered, as well as more easily enabling OTK's even through the damage halving. It's nice that him being destroyed while you have a genghis punishes your opponent too.

The only time i summon an xyz DDD without materials is to tribute it with Raganaroks effect to banish or to use it with contract with the swamp king to summon a caesar ragnarok. And even then its inconsistent.

@Vizman216 literally just came out and hasn't even been used that much yet and people are already calling it trash. Yknow it's effect doesn't trigger off of link summon but SPECIAL summon. So what you can do is make the typical negate heavy board with Crystal Wing and 38 and all that Jazz and then later on in the duel summon it back from grave and then use it's effect to make a comeback.

The way I see the DDD extra deck. The fusions are more to help yourself out of situations, summoning monsters, dealing alittle more damage, gain life. The synchros are more negation and pushing for game as well as extending. The xyz are more major problem solvers, opponents have to many monsters with effects or need to prevent a summon or need a quick revival? So to see the link just provides alittle more push to try and get more out of your extra deck (Plus setting up a pendulum summon for kaiser which is a triple attacking cold wave on legs) and can be used for fusion summons, activating for ddd effects. So yeah, the card isn't summon sorc or borrelsword or needlefiber but it does its job, its good at 1 maybe 2. Stop complaining cause it isn't broken, it does what it needs and does it well, run the card, forget about the seigwing lock its not strong enough on its own anymore and experiment with a new version of the deck

One thing people neglect is now with the two cards in the spell and trap card zone to pendulum summon him, DDD Supreme King Kaiser becomes much more powerful. When he's pendulum summoned he cold waves all face up cards on your opponent's field and then you can destroy up to two spell or trap cards to get as many extra attacks on him. With 2800 attacking three times, that's 8400 for an OTK.

but consider this: First you have kepler + Copernicus, a straight 1-10 scale of wich you play 3 off to pendulum. so while Ragnarok or Thomas have really good effects you could ("possibly) pendulum summon if you needed it. Also there is one XYZ monster thats worth floating into, the Darkest Armageddon gives protection even without materials and moves to the pendulum zone once destroyed, with a pretty strong effect. Also consider that monsters summoned by the second effekt of the Link cant be recursed, as they havent been proper special summoned beforehand

Also note how it's effect to replace itself you can use a ragnarok you used as a material for fusion summoning or xyz summoning to summon that back and then use the effect of the ragnarok to bring back something else. Then if you have ghengis, big G, or high Alexander you can summon... Again. That's four d/d/d's potentially

One of the d/d/d that isn't pendulum, when pendulum summoned negates everything on the opponents side of the field Destroy both pendulums to attack 3 times, which if you're destroying the right ones, they can come right back. The link makes that OTK easier.

You could summon Little Caesar then attach King Tell and "Buuuurn" your opponent with 1,000, if you received effect damage in that turn, or just bring Little caesar and search for a Contract card sending him to the GY

first effect would be better if it said up to 2 d/d pendulums, cause if you have one in scale already (like abyss ragnarok) you cannot activate that effect. second effect would be better if it sadi if this link summoned card is sent to the GY so it would allow extending in your turn by using it as link or fusion material or just tributing it for abyss ragnarok's monster eff. wouldnt break the card as its still d/d locked

This card is good "IN DDD" because it does what it needs to do Searches two pends (Rag and Tom) and also floats... It is a link 2 that turns into a free synchro

@@Yolodrigo it is not underwhelming to me for 2 reasons. 1. Locking my deck to DDD isn't a big deal under most circumstances because about 80% of the deck is DD 2. The card is made for situations in which you need to go defensive or electrumite/other links won't be needed as they tend to be more aggressive. This guy allows me to continue my combos. Secret reason nunber 3 - If he hits the grave by any means I can use necro and him to summon a DDD fusion I know the float requires your opponent to be an idiot but that's not hard to find in yugioh

my problem with Gilgamesh is that the effect doesn't get activated in Master duel half of the time. Like what, my opponent has used a card effect and destroyed Gilgamesh, I can play its effect. Its effect hasn't even been negated. This problem also happens with Armageddon in Master duel, despite it saying pendulums aren't affected by your opponents card effects, it is still effected. More of a problem on master duels side tho.

I definitely wanna see more D/D monsters (good ones, not Subpar BS). Cause you know they got Manga support, as well as plenty of other Mythological Monsters to use! I also Would like to see a Light attribute DDD monster just at least have another member who isn't Dark! Heck, I wanna see if they could Make DDD High King Darius too, cause it was pretty shitty to Leave him out on the High King Treatment!

Actually, when I play ddd, I more often than not pendulum summon, seeing as it’s easier to go into saryuja that way, and therefore easier to make big plays. This card is a gigantic slap in the face, cause now I can’t even do THAT.

This letter disappointed me too much, I thought it would help to revive more ddd, that I would send deck letters to the cemetery or it would be a search engine. But what it does is restrict the invocacioves, I do not think I'll use it when it comes out.

I mean, the fact that it specifies Extra Deck says to me that more D/D Links might be in the works. And, if the other types in your Extra Deck monsters are gone, you COULD summon an Xyz to try and survive? Idk, I'm reaching.

Great card for otk purpose and being able to use copernicus as pendulum scale is cool too.

Yeah, also It allow u to summon siegfried and high wave king caesar (3 negates) with only using 3 cards while keeping huge card advantage to 0tk next turn (2 pend scales, dark contract gate on field and a dark contract search by high caesar eff). It also makes the dark contract floodgate continous trap decent in some match ups

He doesn't run Copernicus or Newton.... Sacrilege With electromite and Kali Yuga you can get a free draw on your opponents turn while blowing up their shit after negating their spells with hope harbinger and Siegfried. It's pretty baller.
