somethings to add: Scale being a scale 9 is very good because now the deck has a good high scale to pend summon level 8 monsters like ragnarok. there's more stuff i wanted to cover like armor xyz with new support and with fiendsmith but those are more for different variants. i wanted to focus on the basics of the new cards for now. this may be a reach but i think running allure might be back on the table seeing as the support made the decklist have less one offs so it's more clean. you can also cut nightmare throne if you want seeing as we got a huge consistency boost to the deck but deck building is up to the player so not every list is gonna look the same. i really like count alot more so than scale but both are good and i appreciate how count made kali a viable option now which i'm really happy about.

Yeah, people really focused on count, but scale was really the great card, as it opens so many ways to play the combos, also it reduces significantly the number of garnet D/D/D cards you need to play, down to basically 0!

Since I realised Kali Yuga existed I saw it first like an odd card from the extra deck. Then time went by and I realised I had Beowulf in my extra deck. So after finally being able to xyz summon it in a match with my father and read closely his wipe-board effect I puzzled out that Beowulf's and Kali Yuga's effects are quite alike. However, while Beowulf's pierce effect is particularly good against defense-centered decks, Kali's effect is by far a pretty solid option if you want to get rid of any SP or other responsive card on the field. Therefore, it will defintely be a must in my Extra Deck.

It's baffling how any deck can summon Caesar by going for a link 2, while our link 2 play for caesar requires so many steps. Just saying we need something for the endboard to make up for the heavy D/D lock. We link for Gilgamesh so many times despite it being useless after its first activation just because we want to send stuff to the GY, it's obvious that the deck in this structure needs an in-archetype Link 3. Just make it very odd and bothering for the opponent, we don't need a Promethean Princess-like card or some form of huge negate. We just need an useful link 3 that's it. May I suggest cutting Lamia? Siegfried is accessed with Orthos most of the times anyway, and we free up space in the extra deck as well

i have a soft spot for lamia (it's my fav main deck d/d) i know i can make siegfried without her but she does come up when i need a free Sepcial summon in grind games. i would have def cut her if scale was a tuner though.

Lamia is the free extender in bad hands, helps you get Siegfried with D'arc if needed, makes Gate a 1 card combo. High Gilgamesh should become a thing. I had the exact same idea, being similar to Phantom turning an opponent's effect into "pop our Gilgamesh" and use the float effect, while also giving us a connection to "Dark Contracts" through links so that we arent so dependent on level 4 monsters (or Kepler) Hot take but I believe the deck will become better if we move away from Kepler being such a centerpiece of the deck, its level has become too awkward. But Count isn't enough unfortunately so Kepler is still needed. I wish it could discard any card and give the option to search or summon.

well the combo lines and deck are more consistent now so it's better than what it was before give or take. if we get a new extra deck boss monster then we'll have new boards. (the current board is an ftk tbh so it is powerfull enough but could be better)

hot take but we do not need more powerful end boards. The last time I played D/D competitively was PoTe, and Machinex was eating Spright for breakfast. Then came the Bystials making the deck obsolete. I would rather get less fragile combo lines, and copium a High Gilgamesh so that the link 3 can add some followup.

the new monsters offer more bodies without a normal summon so playing through imperm just got easier because now you get to go ceasar before you link into gilgamesh. at that point, you should be able to play through the imperm and ending on big ceasar and machinex (sometimes headhunt too) extention is key and that's what they gave us (we need more extenders)

I feel like that most hands still loose to imperm on Gilgamesh. The chain blocking with scale is cool tho but doesn’t fix the main issue

the two cards give more ways to access small ceasar before you go gilgamesh so now you have more ways to play through imperm. imperm is still an issue to the deck but now you have more tools to play through it.

i seen some ocg combos using electromite and yes i'm open to that idea. the deck has alot of techs it could play now which is a nice change of pace. in terms of gilgamesh, he's still needed imo but maybe eventually if we get more support we won't need him anymore.

Because Count is a Diabellstar that searches upon being summoned and is already level 8, whereas with Kapler, you have to put in a lot of effort to get to Kali, but with Count, it's just with one search and less steps so it's better overall

In the Kepler plus Scale combo, you just used an Orthros in hand already. It’s confusing to keep track what you searched and what you don’t use. If you want to show off specific combos you can just go to the test hand settings and check mark don’t shuffle deck along with starting hand count

i been able to play a 43 card list with 10 handtraps so i think if you cut throne, you might be able to even play more. deck is consistent now so going above 44 is not an issue i think.

Hopefully we will see more support in the next month. I like the idea of the new cards adding a different "archetype" to the deck (with servants and the small d/d in the beginning) but I don't like the artworks tbh. For me d/d/d is until now the deck that uses it's pendulum monsters most efficient. They all have good utility effects that come up. These new 2 are far off for that design unfortunately.

you gotta keep in mind that d/d is not a full pend deck so they can't just design over pend effects. the monster effects are what matters in the long run.

@Taro_EST yeah that's true. But until now every pend effect was at least in some situations good. they can be used as combo pieces, or going second. Or in the case of Copernicus as protection. For me that's what makes d/d/d special. Using all ED mechanics in the most usable way. Every Combo piece has its purpose and can be used optimally in most cases. But again. That's just my opinion.

a link3 and a monster negate (ideally an extra deck boss monster) and monsters that make it so you don't have to rely on gilgamesh resolving to end on the full board meaning more extenders and shifting the focus from gilgamesh (which is hard to do at this point)

@@baronhdl5861 that's fine but the general point is unless the deck shifts from gilgamesh then i don't see it ever being high tier rogue or meta because gilgamesh is a huge choke point even post support. the type of support we need is the magistus kind of support which made them go from unplayable to potentially a meta deck/engine. d/d post support is just a slightly better more consistent deck but that doesn't change the fact that the deck is still reliant on gilgamesh resolving most times.

orthros would probably be cut to 1. scale being a tuner means making siegfried becomes the easiet thing ever. have a level 2 tuner to special from grave or hand that can turn itself 4 means it + small genghis is either baronne/bright arma or siegfried or it + big genghis is baronne/bright arma. it would open many ways to summon synchros easier and the card probably would be a 3 off instead of 2 or 1 off
