The scene where Hirayama broke down with tears really disturbs the peace and hurts my heart when his sister leaves the scene. Like a small stone disrupted the calm water and back to calm again. Brilliant film.

Thank you for this inspirational talk. I feel I am a "Hirayama" (or I have recently become someone like Hirayama*, enlightened after life's events) and am guided to this, resonating with everything Mr. Wim Wenders says. I love the fact that there is a shadow of a tree (?) in the background behind Mr. Wenders, nodding as though the "light/God/universe" is saying "yes"! (* Hirayama is a Japanese surname and the name of the protagonist in the movie.)

I didn’t know about this movie. From the abundance of comments from nearly a year ago, I realize it just flew under my radar. After watching an interview with the director, I never expected to be so deeply moved. I definitely want to watch this movie.

Obrigado por postar esse vídeo! O filme é belíssimo e só poderia ser feito no Japão, uma maravilha.

I just saw it on "Kanopy". It is well worth watching. If you liked "Wings of Desire" you will like this one.
