I've always felt that playing Dark Urge while fighting said urge was the intended way to play BG3! Doing good deeds generally with a sprinkle or two of evil, I found every companion warm up to me pretty quickly in some way - Shadowheart still happy that I'm saving people, Astarion enjoying me murdering lol. It's radically different from a normal Tav storyline in the best way possible!

It makes sense!! I think most people find it hard to dive straight into evil! I also would like to keep as many of them around as possible as well! Can't imagine many stay if you are evil evil 🤣

@@TheNocturnalGamer You lose Karlach, Wyll, and Halsin. But you can get Minthara easier. You can still get Jaheira if you convince her (it's not a hard roll). You also lose like half of act 2 and lots of good items in act 3. All in all, I don't think it's very worthwhile.

25:05 I know you said you what to do every dark urge option possible. Mild spoilers, but I need to warn you there is a durge option when you get to the warped portal. If you pick it, you will end up unconsciously killing Gale so don't at least for this specific moment.

Personally, I would love to see the full evil path. I don't want to give anything away for you or any viewers, but it would be fun to watch you go a totally different direction than Tavi.

I always vote for fighting against the Dark Urge I think it makes for a more compelling lets play than just "lets be evil for evils sake lol!!" also the intro for dark urge is literally saying they must try to resist it i feel that is what one is really supposed to be doing (obv we can do whatever we want with the character, personally though im going resist first before giving in)

Such a mix!! I really thought it was going to be straight up go baddie haha 😂 I do think the resisting is what I would feel more comfortable with! Just going straight up evil is not easy to do 😮‍💨

I hate playing or watching full evil playthroughs it feels so much better personally to help in games than hurt :(. unless it's done in a way where it's not taken seriously (on my own evil (tav not durge) play through i literally named the character Putrid as a joke). But yeahh, if you do choose at least a semi-resist, I feel like the horror of the dark urge is felt even more when the durge is trying to resist! because there's some gruesome murder/gore you can't avoid even when trying, so when you're trying to be good and your control over yourself suddenly slips it makes that feel twice as shocking than when ur a straight up vilian from the start

My head cannon is that Dark urge was always supposed to be the canon character for the story Resisting or accepting the urge is up for debate though because i see reasons supportinng both

Yes seems to be a near 50/50 split here which I was not expecting at all actually lol!

I also find it inherently hard to play a villain, or a bad character, or even just a jerk. I couldn’t do it in Mass Effect. I’m actually gonna start a dark urge play through as well, but I’m going to have the character fight the urge.

I am 100% the same!! I tried to do an evil one in D&D and the most I could do was steal one shoe of a pair to annoy people in the town!! Its going to be extremely hard to do!!
