She's not opposed to doing any heinous act, but it does need to have a purpose that suits her needs. She wouldn't outright kill a child that stole from her, because that's wasteful and doesn't lead to a positive outcome for her. She would, however, chop off their hand to punish it, just to instill a lesson never to do that again, but keep them alive so that she might continue to use and/or manipulate them for her own purposes. Minthara's down for just about any evil activity, so long as there is thought and purpose behind it. Killing randomly just for shits and giggles, like Bhaal wants you to do is abhorrent to her, not because she cares about the victims, but simply because it doesn't serve any purpose. But if you can give her a reason for why or how you benefit from this, she'd be first in line to make it happen

I’ve been saying since the beginning that Minthara is genuinely the best companion. She is hilarious, smart, a dommy mommy and pretty much no matter what you do she will stick with you. She is a ride or die for real. I just wish she would have gotten a whole questline like the others did. Such a disservice to my favorite character. Like maybe going back to her home in the Underdark and dabbling in the brutal politics of Drow society with her. It would have been amazing.

One level of wizard isn't for shield, but for other casters (lvl11 druid/cleric/bard/sorcerer) to get any spell from scrolls instead of 3rd feat. If you want just shield, you can take sorcerer (and if taken as first level constitution save proficiency) and have free flying spell as bonus action (and no Minthara sass).

despite having fewer dialogues compared to the others, minthara is the most vibrant person in the game. most other characters seems to just stick with the archetypes that they show in early game, ( eg. shadowheart: secretive but is a nice girl that loves animals and big biceps, astarion: mean pretty snarky flamboyant with witty things to say, halsin: wise druid but also a horny bear, etc) but minthara keep showing new sides of her everyday, she first appeared as some villainous posh that keep saying mean and unhinged things, but it turns out she can be insightful and has great... for the lack of better words... EQ (e.g her lines about karlach and the conversations she has with gale if tav/durge romances her), she is actually the funniest person tav/durge knows, people think she follows the teaching of the spider but she is more of a cat, and sometimes what seems like evil to most people is just her being pragmatic and more.....
