this guy is my biggest motivation. i absolutely loved his sound and right after hearing him live at boiler room, i immediately went online and bought a DDJ console to learn how to mix and DJ. The biggest roadblock for me was taking everything too serious and wondering what others might think. Hearing D.Dan mention how his breakthrough was part of having fun and letting go has re-inspired me to continue trying. I hope to see him live again in January. Thank you for sharing this video! ♥️

I always admire the way that experienced producers spend their money. Good monitors and mastering equipment over dozens of individual soundsources. Doesn’t matter much where you get your hihats from (behringer clone vs actual 909) of you run it through an overstayer and the likes Definitely makes me regret some of my investments, haha.

In the video, he literally says a lot of his stuff was done in the box until he built a studio with enough gear to move out of it. In all likelihood, considering he hasn't released much in years, most of his older stuff was probably done in the box.

"triggering one of the kick drum modules over here" I can see some TipTop Audio drum modules, but I don't think the BD909 is getting triggered, even though it sounds like a 909 over my trashy headphones. I'm curious what it is.

I guess it makes sense if you hear these kind of tracks in his DJ sets. He usually has 3 decks going at the same time and because they're so minimal, they seamlessly transition into each other.
