D Day: 80th anniversary civic service in Ashfield District

This video shows highlights from a civic service at Saint Wilfrid's Church in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The guest of honour was Wladyslaw (Walter) Nazar: captured as a teen from his home town in Poland by advancing German troops, he was put to forced labour for the Nazi war machine. He escaped and joined the partisans’ resistance movement in France before joining up with the US army after D-Day.
