Ok, I've gone down the dods rabbit hole this week and am basically an expert now lol. Started off with the 2024 World Championship out of the blue, which was electric, and have gone back through the years to figure out what the heck is going on. From what I've noticed, 2024 was extremely tight and seemingly more technical than years past. Also, the commentary and production value in 2024 blows everything else out of the water. This is basically slotted in to my favorite obscure sports and I'll def be following closely from now on. Thanks for the long form videos.

@39:12.. diver #23 Julius Dover's eye contact with the judges before his feet even leave the platform.. seems to play a huge role in the scoring process, seeing as the actual døds was nowhere near as technical as others'
@dodsdivingleague2 жыл бұрын
Dødsing is just as much about style as technical difficulty. We'd rather see a graceful 360 than a rushed 720 where the basic døds elements can be lost.

@@dodsdivingleague sweet I thought as much. thank you heaps for the response! In my country of Australia we used to call them "bombies" and shrimping was a "horsie" jumping off of the local bridge/s. We all tried to do something creative and awesome every døds! Good times.

How tall is it? How far do they usually jump?
@dodsdivingleague3 жыл бұрын
The height this year was 12.5 meters. We don't measure the length of the jumps, but some dødsers achieve the same distance or even a bit more in length.
