It is heartwarming to see all of the veterans and how many people turned out to honor them. Thank you for sharing this.

Its 00:04 in the morning now and we are staying at Saint-Aubain-sur Mere. yesterday we have had a trip to Pointe-du-Hoc. The second visit was the Normandy American war cemeterry .(between Saint-Laurent-sur -Mer and Le- Cavey) and this one realy captured all of our hearts. How green the gass is how white the crosses standing up level and square and adapted to the slant of the hilside. How much respecful these men are honored, you have to feel that, Go to there, Earn it.

Where oh where do the restorers/re-enactors keep finding all this motorised tackle, there seems to be more each year? Similar to all the museums now open in Normandy, again where does all the original weaponry, uni's and associated equipment keep turning up from?

My father landed on Omaha Beach after it was secured, he would later be awarded the Silver Star by General Patton for the Battle of Metz.

Négatif! Je suis avant tout maquettiste (manu-military.e-monsite.com/), c'est pourquoi j'aime la bonne vieille ferraille sonnante et trébuchante depuis plus de 30 ans.
